Exclamation Week 7 Milo BSF East

UPDATE! We will play from the AM pads to save time. The scorecards have the AM notation of the correct holes along with hole distance for all holes. On the back of the scorecard you will find the new map of the BSF East layout to which the hole distances correspond. We will be playing with 8 RPs/stroke.

Saturday 1/14/12
Chain Damage at Ace Holes
DGOD - Ace or Die at Dancing Cows
Chain Smokers at ABDG Misfits
Oregon Disc & Wildlife at Go F*ck Yourself
Disc Golf or Die at Eastside Crushers

Sunday 1/15/12
Team Skinny at GripLok
Darkhorse at Big Winds
Putt This! at Vapor Trails
Green Bowl Packers at Old, Evil & Sassy
Rockwood Roughnecks at Discrupters

We don't usually play this hard of a course during the season but it looks like this is what we will have at Milo. This means we will use the ssa from the finals and go with 8 Ratings Points/stroke. We are still on early start times so please Captains Set Lineups at 8am so we can tee off at 8:30am! This will take longer to play this 18 than it took us to play 19 last weekend.

The weather has been incredible so far, let's hope our good roll continues!

How about playing from the AM pads to shorten the rounds?

Thanks for the suggestion. I did think about this some, but 4 of the front nine and 6 of the back nine do not have shorter pads. That means fully 10 of the 18 are in their full on game-testing arm-wrenching soul-crushing glory that is the BSF layout. Even with playing from all 8 of the AM pads the ssa may not get out of the 8 RP/stroke territory.

I'd be willing to listen to cases pro and con.

Exclamation some stats

Last year's Conference Championships on Saturday 2/26/11 the Saturday League played the BSF East layout in the afternoon to an SSA of 62.91 while the Sunday League played it in the morning to an SSA of 62.53.

Do we think that playing 8 holes from the AM pads will lower the SSA to below 58?

also the uphill hole from the shorts instead of back by the bathrooms would be another stroke.

I am thinking, all of the Pro pads except for the long hole #2 and sticking with the 8RP/Stroke handicap.

But there is still time to try and convince me...

I think that's a fair compromise. Help the speed of play a bit, but not completely dumbing-down Milo.

For what its worth... I played a round from the short pads and a round from the long pads the other day. The scoring differential between the two rounds was 4 strokes. I felt like I scored well and played at pretty much the same level for each of the two rounds.

I'd love to see those cards to check where the extra strokes were made up. Was it due to better tee shots on the holes with only 1 tee pad or did you make up 4 strokes on the 8 holes with AM pads...

I don't think playing from the am pads that are available would lower the SSA... that being said, I think Pinkal's suggestion of the am pads wasn't meant for that purpose; it was to help speed of play? I could be totally wrong; just the way I read it. And my wimpy little arm will play from any pad you tell me to, though I must say I prefer the am pads.

I know I picked up 2 strokes on the Monster and 1 on the combined hole. The other stroke I'm not sure of, but I do know that I played the spiral exactly the same both rounds.
