THE BATTLE IS COMING
In about 3 weeks the Battle will be upon us.So if you are still thinking about it,heres some tidbits to help pursuade you into joining up in some fun. First off about Lakewood, the redesign is coming along nicely. If you have been out there playing im sure you have noticed the new tee pads and benches. Like this one pictured
here. This will be the new #1, and aside from the grass growing around the pad and the actually pad getting sandblasted with the tee sign towards the back of it , this is what the finished product will look like.
I had the pleasure of letting a few fly the other day and man, I just love the grip on those pads, I can't get enough of that traction action. The benches and tee pads are all getting coated with anti graffitti sealant after a nice acid wash, which stains them to a remarkably natural rock like appearance. Sadly we have had some conflicting property line issues with the King County Housing Authority and I (Keith) have been painstakingly trying to work with these guys and negoiate the use of land we have previously used for over 20 years. Specifically long #5 basket position and #6 basket position. Two weeks ago the verdict was , "you can't have your baskets here" "thats our property, we're putting up a fence". After making some calls to some key people in congress and stressing out entirely too much, as of today it's "well we don't really have any plans for that area" "you might be able to use that area again". So it looks like they have made a compromise that will grant us access back to thier precious property, that has no development plans for there current renovations. This has put a little damper on the last 3 holes having the new tee pads and benches for the Battle. But in case you were wondering YES, indeed this tournament may be a first that will actually unveil a new layout during the event. So the current layout that you all know and love so much will be played on Saturday for the last time, then Sunday will be the unveiling of the new design and those playing in the tournament will be the first ones to play the course as such. This is a pretty cool opportunity for you to see first hand what will be,and set the par for the new course.
We are getting more and more sponsors daily, which means added cash and more schoweeet cool prizes and raffles. The player packs have some rare one of a kind stuff not available anywhere else. Pictured
here are the innova CFR design consisting of glow champ monarchs, glow champ destroyers, glow champ xcalibers, and champ Katanas(which some are so sweeet looking it was hard to resist the urge to stash a few for ourselves).
The lunch menus are looking pretty damm scrumptious, and for a measly $5 you'll get an entree, starch, veggies, dessert, and drink on both days. How bout them apples?
Also did I happen to mention that this tournament stamp pictured
here happens to be the FIRST EVER US Lattitude 64 custom foil stamp? Well it is, so if your a collector and really want a piece of history, come in the shop and get you a Halo or Havoc both avaialble in gold and opto plastic.
If that wasn't enough we will also be having some really cool full color discs coming with images that will make you freak out when you see them.
So yes we have not cut any corners as far as offering something unique and very cool for you all to enjoy.I hope you pre register soon, so that you can be a part of this really cool event, which also happens to be stop #4 on the Washington State Series. Cheers
