Default Sudoku Showdown - PDGA C-Tier - 7.9.11 - Chainbangerz Summer Series event #4

Sudoku Showdown

>159.9g Class Tournament
Saturday, July 9th at SeaTac DGC

Get your pencil's ready, yup, only two months until go time for this and we've been hearing from a lot of 150 class enthusiasts!

Divisions: All divisions will be offered, remember that you can play in any division for inclusion in the series finale and raffle! (see here for details on the Series prizes and basket giveaways!)

Entry: $12 -All divisions (no $10 PDGA non-member fee) – With this low entry, we'll have a couple of really sweet prizes but no placement-based payout.

Discs: Discs must be less than 159.9grams in weight and PDGA approved - other than that, go wild!

Registration/Players Meeting: Registration will run from 8:30-9:30am and we’ll be starting the first round at 10am

Where: At SeaTac, meet up at tournament central by hole 8

Logistics: Two rounds at SeaTac with a lunchbreak. Like the Southside opener in April we’ll again have a couple of interesting alternate pins to mix things up a bit!

As a reminder/plea regarding our Summer series - Keith and I had to each put up $2,000 of our own money to buy back the baskets at SeaTac to keep the course alive. It wasn't a major challenge but it is a lot of cash we've got to recoup so I hope you’ll all come out and support our effort to keep SeaTac one of our premiere area courses!

Unfortunately, I will be out of town. On the flip side at least I will be visiting my inlaws and dging in HI, but hate to miss this!
Count me in though for a donation to the basket fund my friend.

I've been putting my bag together for this one and played my first all 159.9 class round on Tuesday.

Here's my lineup right now:

Drivers:
150g Star Teebird (ultra-straight just like any ol' Teebird)
158g Champ Glo Leopard (slightly understable control driver)

Specialty:
159g CE Firebird (utility shots galore)
149g R-Pro Xcalibur (Its pretty flippy and I only really use this for 17 and back door turnover on 18 - we'll see if this thing isn't taco'd by tourney time! All it will take is one tree methinks )

Midrange/Putting:
150g dx Birdie (upside-down putting and awesome as a floaty jump putter)
159g dx Zephyr (all sorts of straight/turnover approaches)

Definitely my main weakness is the 150-250' range because neither the Zephyr nor Birdie can handle strong approaches - I still need to find a putter that can handle some snap! My drivers feel totally solid though, I don't think I'm going to change a thing there.

Up to 159.9 grams? I don't have anything that heavy in my bag now!

I'm just waiting for my putter, the rest I have.
This weekend I'm gonna start practicing at the 'Tac with only AO/JO weights in the bag.
Sure hope its not too windy.

My lineup will include;
2 R-Pro Boss's, a 145 hyzer flipper and a 159 stable forehand driver
150 Destroyer
150 11X Eagle L
150 11X Eagle X
155 CE Gazelle
155 VIP Northman
158 XD
139 Beast
150 Star Valk
150 Dx TeeRex
and a rare, old school 150 Scorpion.

This is the only tourney I'm gonna play this year, so if any of you have ever wanted a piece of me, for whatever reason, this is your one chance, bring it.

Tom took my entry money at the store, he knows I'm playing.
Plus, his dad is the 150 class wizard, he snags all the good light discs before I get to them, so he's gonna be more of a threat.

my 150 set up:

150g Star Sidewinder - newer
150g Star Sidewinder - beat up
147g CE Leopard

The Leopard and new sidewinder are just back ups for when I lose or get pissed at the other disc.

Looking forward to this tourney. Let me know if you want me to bring the Lake Stevens baskets down for this tourney.

Still no putter., but I did find a new 150 Z Flick to add to my Sudoku bag.
I will fear no wind now, unless it's mine after too many Arco chili dogs.

Starting to get good with these light discs, under a month to go. See you all there!

I have now played two practice rounds at the 'Tac with a 150 only bag.
I think I got the discs figured out.
Weather looks perfect for Saturday, and the course is in great shape, this should be a great day of golf.
