Sure by doing an end around and saying that someone would take responsibility for making changes to Timber so it would play as two different courses. And, as usual, when you don't do something yourself, it fails to get done at all. We get to Timber and play it the first time, and have no assurance that it will be any different when we play it the next time. In fact when someone asked Mr Marvel about it, he stated that Timber is in the placements it will be in all winter...

So I made an executive decision...we will play the course that we passed up on playing in order to play "Timber long and Timber short".

But Dan, at least you cared enough to get the captain's meeting held and participated beyond not showing up to the meeting and just making snide comments about the scheduling on this forum...*cough*cough*Searles*cough*cough*...

I don't think anyone did an end around. We had a couple people step up and say they would take care of it. I even spoke to Shupp the week before the last Timber match and he said Carl was on it. The only reason I didn't step in was I thought others had it covered and didnt want to cluster the process (or lack thereof).

We did not vote N Bonneville out in favor of Timber, we voted N Bonneville out because of safety, lack of interest and commute (long drive with little daylight). Timber was chosen as the replacement, it could have just as easily been Hornings (some asked for) or some other course.

Personally, I'm excited to play TDG, its the people I care about, not the course.

As for smack talk. I think sometimes folks, including myself, overstep the line. Easily done, especially considering this is a forum and we lose all inflection and expression. That being said, perhaps its time to put a Holiday moritorium on some of the smack talk, most of it isn't funny and none of it is productive.

Happy Holidaze!

I will refer you to post #16 on this thread where I directed the lovely Emma to think about the team from The Dalles that travels a lot farther than nearly everybody else to play Team Disc Golf. I like the course at N Bonne, but it is the fact that it saves Big Winds some driving time that really makes me want to include this course in our season.

I think that this statement is where we agree most heartily. Next year I'd like to come up with some way to get us all playing together more often than the Prelims and the finals...

Totally!

If there is one thing that I am most proud of regarding Team Disc Golf, it is the fact that so many female golfers feel comfortable enough to join in the fun competition with us.

You ladies rock!

Happy & Merry to one and all! And we'll see everybody out at North Bonneville in the New Year!

Jordan- I'm not trying to rehash an old argument with you regarding N Bonneville on the schedule, I was merely giving a clarity of events and reasons for the initial decision, which was brought up. Please don't take my comments out of context.

My issue is more, why did I take time to show up and vote if at the end of the day what we decided doesnt matter? As far as I can tell, you're the only one pushing for N Bonneville, I've never heard Big Winds complain, but, I can show you where several Saturday teams asked for a date change and your comment was, too bad, we voted and thats how it is... Thats where I take issue. An inconsistant policy imho.

As many others have noted, you've done a phenominal job with TDG, the personal sacrifice does not go unnoticed or under appreciated. Any issues I may bring up are totally procedural and are not meant as a personal attack. I'm sorry you end up taking all the heat, at the end of the day you still ROCK! Many thanks!!!

Just wait until next year when Saturday teams get to play on 12/31/11 and Sunday teams have to brave the 1/1/12 early morning disc golf bonanza...it all comes around eventually...

OR... the captains can pay better attention to the calendar when making up next season's schedule?

Just an FYI, I will be unable to attend 1/1/12 under any circumstances. It's freakin' New Years' dude.

And I will be trying to fill my roster next year with players who are dedicated to attending all of the OTDG events...

Would this be a bad time to mention that I will miss the event at Milo in a few weeks? Probably...

It will be my second missed event in four years on this team so clearly my commitment to OTDG and OBS is clearly not very good.

Since OTDG is a year-to-year type league, it really becomes a what have you done for me lately type deal...so listing what happened in previous years won't help change the fact that you will be missing two events this year...after telling me that you were good to go for the rest of the season...

But that is a discussion for another day and another venue, preferably with beers involved and less typing.

Really, I am just glad that you were able to continue to play OTDG this year. It would suck to have to replace a Team Captain for the first time...

Maybe it is just me, but I took to be a pretty snide comment. Maybe we should have a thread with a poll asking the other readers of this forum to vote about how they interpreted your comment...

no sir not meant that way at all, i was seriously confused as to why since we play Sorosis 1st in the year as to miss the chance of nasty weather you would just pick Bonne for the 1st week in Jan. when if you were upset by Timber plans, we could always just play Milo from the Ams for a change of pace.

Trust me... no one is more upset about this lapse than I am. Milo is my home and it is the very first place I think about playing when I wake up in the morning with a hankering to throw.

That said... the kid died and his big sister is getting married and I have a Jewish Mother and... familial guilt wins out over TDG this time.

Good. I hate typing.
