Default Call For Unwanted Discs

I was contacted by Robert Shaw, the Outreach Specialist for Mentoring Children of Promise (MCP). MCP is a community-based, 1-to-1 mentoring program for Spokane County youth ages 4-18 that are affected by parental incarceration. MCP recruits, screens, trains, and supports volunteers that want to have a positive impact in the life of a child.

There are about 50 planning on playing a round of disc golf at Highbridge on Saturday May 21 at 3 pm.

They need some discs to play with and Robert wanted to know if we could come up with some discs to use.

I'll be at Downriver on Saturday, May 14, most of the day and will be accepting donated disc for these kids and their mentors.

Come on out to the work party and bring those unused discs for MCP.

Hey guys, I need at least thirty more used discs to help this Big Brother & Sister type group next Saturday at Highbridge.

Please help these kids out, I know almost everybody has at least one or two discs sitting somewhere at home or in your car that you never intend to throw again.

Thanks for the help, Bob

I'm sure I could scrounge up at least 10. Can't say that they'd all be 'beginner friendly' though--some fairly overstable stuff, but a few putters and mids. Send me a PM and we can meet up this week.

League was at 5, but I didn't get any replies from anyone. I'm going to try to make it to DR Saturday, I'll keep ya posted if I can make it.

Hey Bob, how did the event turn out? Did you have enough discs?

Yes we had had more than enough discs for the MCP event. All had fun and I let them keep the discs they had. We had 8 people show up. They said that they would be back to play again.

Default I don't understand

Now I have a problem with something I noticed a while ago.
I was appointed lost and found for SDGA and I received a small box of old disc from Kevin and I was told that after I tried to call people back (if a name was on disc) & if i had no response
then I could give a disc to newbies that I occasionally play with out on the course to promote and encourage people to continue playing, and this is what I did and continue to do.
so when this thread originated I gladly gave Bob about 7 or 8 disc to help out with MCP event. so here is my Problem Why is it that when i was looking through the used disc bin that the SDGA was selling. Why did I see at least 4 of the disc that I gave to bob for that event were in this bin for sale?

Aaron, there are more used discs now than when I started. I have bought more used discs than I have sold. These discs will be used to support any event that comes along and needs discs. If you want your discs back to give to newbies, all you have to do is ask me for them back. 8 discs where given away at the original event. Those 8 have been replaced and more.
