Default How many is too many

I just counted all my discs that I could find (I'm sure there are more in hiding some place).. anyhow, I counted 236 of them. Do I have a problem? .. yes I think so.

If you spot me in a store holding a disc please attempt to stop me... unless said disc is a Breeze, then you better stand back.

How many do you have?

I feel a little better already, thanks.

Are you sure she is still there? Can you see her behind all the discs?

Sounds like its time for a disc golf yard sale. I have only been playing a few months, and I already have 60.

It's only too many if you think it's too many. If you have 30 and you think it's too much then it is but if you have 2000 and you don't think it's too much then it isn't.

Tonight on "Disc Golf Hoarders"......

Dan Lilley was a man with a problem.....a ROC problem. His wife reported him missing in late July and it wasn't until a third visit to the home on October 10th that police dogs located his body buried beneath a mountain of premium plastic.

More than 50, less than 100. Hard to say without actually counting them up. Almost half are rocs and wizards, which I'll most likely throw till I die, so I don't feel like it is too many.

There's no such thing as "too many frisbees." Physicists have done the math.

With one exception, the only condition observed to date, even in extreme laboratory environments, is "not enough frisbees." The only exception to the rule scientists have found is during the rare Locational Equinox, or "moving day."

Some medical and psychological authorities swear by the frisbotomy. Survival numbers, though sketchy, don't look all that good. I'd say the risk is too great, wherever the stacks are kept short enough so as to not threaten life and limb. That's easy for me to say, as I own no Rocs. I find them to be quite useless. I wouldn't suggest any prohibition however, as that would bring in the legal authorities, and we have seen the results of that a couple of times already. Everyone has a different system, and I've seen the Buzzz bring complete cures. I can stop getting more Buzzzes any time I choose.

I digress.

The system's not broken...

...it's fixed!

I am aware that I own far fewer discs than most golfers I know or talk to. I think I have about 25 that cycle in and out of the bag depending on the course, and exactly 57 discs total in my possession. I am certainly not a hoarder and my discs carry very little sentimental value. Sure there are some discs I couldn't bare losing but it happens, and I definitely do not buy discs for collecting. I have lost probably 6 discs with aces on their scoreboards.

I just go through discs so fast between losing them, destroying them (trees, pavement, loss of stability) or trading them away for fresh plastic. I'm a utilitarian. I throw what works for the time being. I ask the same question of every disc, "What have you done for me lately?"

I have about 60 total right now, I think at my peak I had about 75, what made it entertaining was that they were all in my tiny single college dorm room in one giant stack, people thought I was crazy. I don't think I've ever had too many discs, about 25 of my 60 right now are wall discs I have no intention of ever throwing.

I haven't counted in over a year but I only have four tubs of new discs and couple of tubs of thrown ones. Last time I counted it was around 300 but I think that was a tub or two ago.

I am trying not to collect and are only picking up back ups of things I throw..............with a few exceptions!

Interesting topic! How many is too many? Depends on what you think is too many!

It's funny when I do field practice in my neighborhood park, people walk by and see a stack of 12 and they say out loud: "Wow, why do you have so many frisbees?" Ball golfers don't play golf with one club so can't they figure it out?

Can you imagine what the guys that work at Innova and Discraft have for plastic? Some of these guys probably have an entire garage or basement full stacked to the ceiling.

Personally, I am trying to get rid of anything I don't want to throw. Not into collecting just to pile them up. I have been dreaming of organizing a Disc Golf swap meet. I think McMennamins Kennedy School would be a great place to rent out a room and everyone could bring the plastic they don't want anymore and trade out everything over a couple of beers and or some food.
