Post Leverich After Dark - October 30 - Fundraiser

Saturday October 30th
Leverich Park, Vancouver, WA
3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

One round of singles followed by a BBQ and a round of (Random Draw) Three Headed Monster.

Players Pack: 1 Glow Buzz - Discraft and assorted small items like stickers, pencils, a mini.

Lots of prizes!

The entry fee is $20 plus a required $5 donation to the Parks Foundation

Guests can come and have dinner and participate in extra events for a $5 donation.

This tournament is a fund raiser for the Parks Foundation. Our goal is to raise $500 for future park improvements and new disc golf courses. Just under half of the $500 will come from the required donation, the other half will come from sponsors and Firefly Disc Golf. Because this is a fund raiser there will NOT be a payout for any players, just prizes.

Maximum of 48 players will be allowed to play in this event.

The course will feature long hole 12 to the island and a new pin placement for one hole. The course will also feature some additional after-dark obstacles!

Thumbs down Technical Difficulties

Due to technical difficulties (Our web server blew a gasket or something) registration is down. This will hopefully be resolved shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience. We were 10% full when the site crashed so I think there will be room for most all of you!

The singles round will be before sunset (6 pm according to www.sunrisesunset.com).

The three headed monster round will be after sunset!

I went to the park on Saturday night around 8 p.m. and it is VERY dark at Leverich at that time of night. However, the picnic shelter is well lit, and we will be lighting up the baskets with glow sticks, strobe lights, reflective items, etc.

Everyone will get a Glow Buzz in the Player's Pack and we will have a few Glow Nukes for sale at the event. We'll have a Glow Recharging station at tournament central. I would recommend bringing a LED headlamp and/or a flashlight along with other glow plastic. We will also have "Spooky Spotters" on the course that may be able to help spot plastic and/or eat it!

We are over 25% full for the event, so if you want in to this event don't wait! Once the players spots are full we will allow people to sign up as Guests for $5 and we will provide dinner for them and they can participate in the "festivities" but they will NOT be able to play in the rounds. They will be eligible for ring the of fire, and other events we will be running.

There will also be prizes for the best costume at the event so be thinking and preparing your best!

I also talked with two sponsors that may be adding a few more prizes to the event. More details soon!

Exclamation By The Bottle

By The Bottle Just informed me that they are going to be sponsoring our event over and above what we requested from them, with a donation to the Parks Foundation and in kind donations of prizes and swag for the players.

Registration will close for the Leverich After Dark tournament next Sunday October 25th or when we reach 48 players, whichever comes first. If you are planning on playing in this event don't delay.

As an added FUN competitive event we will be giving prizes for the best costumes of the night.

Also, no one has signed up to bring a guest yet. This should be a fun event to bring a "date" to or a "caddy" or both. (Just don't let your caddy know about your date!) The requested donation for guests/caddies is just $5 and we'll make sure they get dinner for that donation.

Default Notice to Players

E-mail sent to players: (for those that don't check e-mail)

Leverich After Dark
Important Information

We hope you are ready for Leverich After Dark. We've been working hard prepping the course and planning everything for Saturday. Here's what you need to know:

Schedule:
3:00 p.m. - Check in (at the large shelter near hole 7)
3:30 p.m. - Player's Meeting
4:00 p.m. - Single's Round (13 holes)
5:30 p.m. - Dinner
6:00 p.m. - Pumpkin Carving, Costume Judging, Skill Challenges, etc.
6:30 p.m. - Player's Meeting
7:00 p.m. - Three Headed Monster Round
8:45 p.m. - Award Ceremony
9:00 p.m. - After Tournament Party

Rules Details:
There will be one prize for first place in the singles rounds. The top 16 players in the singles round will be team captains for the Three Headed Monster Round. They will "Draft" their team by picking the remaining 32 players. Picks for the first round will start with the player that has the lowest score in the singles round, followed by second pick for the second place player, etc. Round two picks will be in reverse order with the 16th place player picking first in the second round and the first place player picking last.

Three Headed Monster rules: All three players from a team will tee off on each hole (unless a player's drives have been used up). The team will then choose the drive they are going to use and the two players that did not throw that drive will be allowed to putt or approach and putt to finish out the hole. Teams can use no more than 6 drives from any one player during the round.

Ties for first place in both rounds will be settled by sudden death play starting on hole 7, followed by holes 8, and 9. If there is still a tie after those holes, the player or one player from the team will throw one drive from the tee of hole 6 and the player landing closest to the pin will be declared the winner regardless of O.B.

What to Bring:
Warm Clothes
Flashlight/LED Head Lamp
Glo Discs/LED Discs
A FUN costume
A Bag of Treats to share

This event is FULL, however, we can still use a few volunteers to help with making the course Glo and be a little scary for the final round. Also, if an opening occurs due to injury, illness, maiming, or loss of life, it would be great to be able to slip someone into a threesome for the round.

Volunteers will be served dinner and will be expected to help put glo sticks on the course. They should come in costume and be prepared to help during the final round with one of the assigned "scare" locations. They will also be assigned to help clean up after the round. They may be able to participate in some of the extra-curricular activities during the night like the pumpkin carving contest, the best costume contest, the mini-ctp contest and other such events.

If you are interested in helping out, please complete the contact form on our web site. Do not PM me, tweat me, or send me a facebook message. http://fireflydiscgolf.com/contact
