Exclamation First Draft of rules posted

The Yahoo group has the first draft of the rules for 2010-11 Oregon Team Disc Golf. We will have the most winter disc golf of any prior year if this thing comes off as I envision it.

Please give it a read and let me know if it makes any sense. Any questions can be posted here or PM me if you'd prefer.

I read through it, and thought it sounded good, Jordan. I think you did a great job addressing some issues and making appropriate changes (the tie breaker handicap is right up my alley).

How about for the finals we have 7 on 7 because its hard to tell one team mate that your out for the finals. Last year almost all of the teams played 7 players.

Wow. 5 singles instead of 4? Cali gets two throws on each lie? Shall I get some popcorn?

This sounds like a good topic for the owners meeting this year. Last year when I was considering dropping the doubles altogether, players whined about missing out on playing dubs.

A few years ago, we all played dubs in the morning and then all played singles in the afternoon. This cut our number of rated rounds played in half and then people could bag the singles and tear it up in the dubs and not see any rise in their rating.

I'd be willing to just switch the league to all singles every round if the love affair for dubs has lessened...Pinkal?

I'm gonna be pumped if we can hash all of this out before we even get to October!

peace,
em

Sounds great Jordan just pick the date for the meeting and we can go over main topics then. I have a couple more but I do not want to start a pissing match on the forum because Hemmerling and Bob will blow them up.

Wait a minute Shupp.............how did I get into this? Just cause you and your Barbie doll don't want to play doubles and get your panties all bunched up, don't make me the fall guy. I'm sure you want to attend the Owners meeting to get a rule passed allowing you to have a motorized walker and allow your caretaker to change your depends every few holes.

I DO like doubles and find that as one of the best parts of Team Golf. Shawn and I fear no one in Dubs. Bring em on!

Bob

You tell 'em, Bob!

I like dubs too. I also like the idea of 5 singles matches, and not having to sit someone out each round.

the match i'll always remember in my first year of team golf was a dubs match when pine and i battled pinkals team down to the last throw. epic. doubles is fun and makes for more strategy in matchups! don't get rid of doubles! i wasn't on the winning side of most doubles matches either.
last years set up was good but i would've liked the option of adding the fourth singles match so there's no having to sit out a round. sitting out a round sucks! i have no prob taking dubs out of the finals but let the seventh man point stand. hell if you play all seven in the finals make it two points just to screw rockwood.
