2010 Zoo Town Open

The 2010 Zoo Town Open will be held on May 15th and 16th in Missoula, Montana and will be the third stop on the INWS. We'll be playing 2 rounds on Saturday at Blue Mtn and 1 on Sunday on the Green Grizzly course, the same temp course set up at Fort Missoula as last year.

There will be early player check-in on Friday from 2:30 - 4:30 at Big Sky Brewery, located just off the interstate on your way into town featuring 4 FREE tasters and a $1 off growler fill coupon in your player's pack. There will also be free brewery tours available for those who are interested and baskets set up outside to the brewery to stretch out after the long trip.

There will be a $5 random draw dubs round on Friday starting at 5:30 at the Green Grizzly temp course so everyone can get a chance to see it before the tourney. Will post a map and directions soon.

Registration is open and filling fast at www.gardencityflyers.org The first 45 entrants will receive a delux players pack.

This is graduation weekend at the U of M, so we were unable to secure a host hotel. We are working on finding places for out-of-towners to stay and will post that info here as soon as I can.

Well I signed up for the tourney that was easy, now the hard part is finding a place to stay in town, graduation has taken all the rooms up @ local motel/hotel's. So if anyone has a place for me to crash, please let me know.

I am jealous. I have played the last two Zoo's and was disapointed that the dates changed.
I do remember some camping made available last year. Hopefully that works out for everyone. But it will be cold!!!!!

Anyway GCF does a sweet job at running this event. If you can make it by all means do so.

Timberbeast in Troy the third Sat in June is also worth the drive. Thats my plan right now

We are full as of last nite at 6:00 PM and have started a waitlist. By far the fastest a MT tourney has filled - just under 10 days. Thanks to all you WA'ers!! Also Thanks to all who have supported the event by buying Mystery Ranch DG bag raffle tickets and CFR discs! There are still a few of each available. Contact me if your interested.

A few generous GCF'ers have offered up places to stay for all the out-of-towners for the weekend. I'll post their info and you can decide where you'd like to stay and contact them yourself to set it up.

I talked to someone this weekend who was able to reserve a hotel room, so if that's suits you better than couch/floor space, better get on that quick as it is graduation weekend for the U of M that weekend. 8:30 first tee time at Fort Missoula. Groups will tee off approximately every 10 minutes following that. Intermediate Men will tee off first, followed by Adv Masters, then by Adv Grand Masters, Am Women, etc...

We want to encourage everyone to make it to the player check-in at Big Sky Brewery. It is a family friendly environment and they have been a HUGE sponsor of DG not only in MT, but accross the NW. They offer up to 4 FREE taster glasses of brew, some of which is only available at the brewery, and have also donated a $1 off a growler fill coupon that everyone will receive in your player's pack. There will be free brewery tours available at 3:00, 3:30, and 4:00 as well.

I am pleased to announce that Brooks and Browns is hosting the Player's Party on Sat nite. They are located in the Holiday Inn Parkside. B & B is a very nice bar and casino that also serves a full menu off food - everything from burgers to steaks - and will be offering a sandwhich special for the evening. There will be live music by a local bluegrass band on the patio (weather permitting) as well as Bocci ball and baskets set up in the park by the patio. They have donated cheap drink/pitcher coupons that can be found in all player's packs to help get the party started.

For the more adventerous, Localfest is also happening that weekend, which is a festival celebrating all things local to Missoula. There will be live music in Caras Park - located adjacent to Brooks and Browns - as well as special events happening at several of the 20some bars located downtown - all within walking distance from Brooks and Browns.
