Default Woodmansee Work Parties - Salem, Oregon

You're invited to a PARTY!!
A bunch of parties in fact. I will be running work parties at Woodmansee Park on the
1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, every month, until all work is done.
I'll be there from 8:00am until 1:00pm every 1st & 3rd, rain or shine.

Here are the things that we will be doing:
-Clear brush for new tee pads
-Assemble and install Kiosk
-Install new tee signs
-install walk-out signs
-excavate & build frames for all 18 tee pads
-install 3 "paver" tee pads
-pour 15 concrete tee pads

So, 8:00am to 1:00pm
March 7th & 21st
April 4th & 18th
May 2nd & 16th

and so on...

As long as people show up, we should have it all done by the end of May, but if not then I will keep coming out until it's done.

Bring gloves, wheelbarrows, brush cutters, etc.

This Sunday at Woodmansee Park in Salem, Oregon, another work party.
8 A.M. to 1 P.M.

We will be working on a brand new disc golf kiosk and tee signs.

Drop by, lend hand or make a cash donation to our beer fund.

Thanks goes out to Mike from Alaska who bought everyone beer 2 weeks ago.
Thompson Brewery is so conveniently located, it makes a great place to cool down after a day of work.

This Sunday, 22 August, we are having a work party to prep for concrete tee pads and install some sign posts.

10 am. Bring shovels and picks to excavate sod, dirt and rocks.

Our current plan is to do a work party every Sunday until it is done.

I just checked out Woodmansee last weekend to see the new tee placements... where are the "back 9" tees going to be for 7, 8, and 9? On the map by hole #1, it looked like they were going to be pretty close to the existing tees, and that would be a shame. There are some real opportunities there for whole new flight paths on all three of those. (This is true on #5 as well; is it true that the other tee will be just a few feet from the existing one?)

7alt is going to be to the left and behind the big evergreen. 8alt is to the right and way back requiring a right hand shot right off the tee. 9alt is to the left by the fire hydrant, it make the best shot to the left of the big evergreen between the trees.

Okay, thank god. The map didn't reflect those positions at all.

Default Paver Tee Pad Install - Sunday

This Sunday, 5 Sept, 9 am, CCDG will be installing paver tee pads on holes 2, 6, & 15 at Woodmansee DGC.

The city has acquired the materials and we are finally ready to do some real work.

We need bodies to help with the work. Any help will be appreciated. We'll even take a couple more supervisors, if you know how to install pavers.

Default Concrete Tee Pads - Sunday, 19 Sept 9am

We are finally getting concrete tee pads at Woodmansee DGC.

Sunday, 19 Sept at 9am we will installing 7 concrete tee pads. Most of the prep work is done. We just need to lay down some more gravel, install forms, and pour concrete.
About 9:30 am Sunday the city is delivering 120 bags of concrete to the park.
At the same time Beast will be picking up the cement mixer from the rental shop.

We need the following items to make this job happen:

Wheelbarrows - we need at least 5 of them

Concrete finishing tools - we are really short of these, if you can borrow some from someone please do.

Concrete forms - we have some being brought out, but we may need more.

shovels, hoes, rakes, etc.

Tees 11, 4, and 13 still need gravel, in the mean time the others can get concrete.

Please show up at 9am and we can start preparing for the arrival of the concrete.

Default Saturday digging and Sunday more concrete!

We are running out of time to spend the city's money!!!

This weekend will be a tough one.

Saturday at 2 pm will have a work party to dig out 7, 8, 16, 17. The ground is a lot softer from all the rain we got last week.

Sunday 9am we will install forms and pour concrete on 1, 11, 7, 8, 16, 17. Or what ever we can get done.

Please PM me if you can make either day.
Hope to see all your smiling faces there.

Default 4 More Concrete Pads at Woodmansee

Sunday, 10 Oct at 10am we will installing 4 more concrete tee pads at Woodmansee DGC.

Most of the prep work is done. We just need to lay down some more gravel, install forms, and pour concrete.

We have all the required materials; gravel, forms, mixer, and concrete.

We do need Wheelbarrows, Concrete finishing tools, and hard working bodies.

If you can only stay for part of the day, that's fine, the more hands the better.

Please show up at 10am.

If you want play 18 baskets, show up at 7am, play a full round with Beast and his crew, and then do the work party.
