Default Name of new course, target? Your thoughts?

Hi all, we'd like to name the new course and have to name the new targets so I can send them in for certification. What I've heard for names of the new course is "The Firs (being mostly firs), Back Forty (old name for the area), Mountain (goes with canyon, highland), Gold Course (what it is, also likened to fine whiskey name i.e. "Horning's Gold"). More?

Also, we have to name the targets. The new course has the new configuration, which has a narrower top and much longer chains and catch very well and does not spit them out as before if you catch the rim. Names that have come up is "Horning's OHM (because of the music festivals here and the sound it makes), Yellow Jackets (becasue of the color), NW Dreamcatcher (leaning towards a NW woodsy feeling), NW Spider or just Spider (because of the web of chains). Any other suggestions?

Thanks

In my mind, the third course has been the Mountain Course since you first described it to me.
As a nickname, I like the Cardiac Course.

For baskets, keep it somewhat vague like the other manufacturers. I like HH3 (Hornning's Hideout, 3rd generation).

I have to agree with Scott, but as for the baskets - I do like the "Yellow Jackets" as a name for them.
Another possible name could be "Horning's Rouge" for the course since it is both up and down - valley and mountain. I am looking forward to playing there some day in the future!

I like "HH3" for the baskets.

For the course, another suggestion might be Evergreen. It's less specific than Firs, but somehow sounds nicer.

I dunno, it doesn't feel "mountainous" to me, except for #8, and Mountain sounds too much like Highland. I think Gold is better.

HH3 for the baskets, I like that.

Looks like we are split on either "Gold" or "Mountain" course. How about Gold Mountain?

My vote for the course would be either:

Heartbreak Ridge

You could shorten it to simply Heartbreak.

Or

Rosie

To tie a musical reference.
It ain't exactly pretty
Ain't exactly small ...
You could say its got it all!

After playing the course in full last Sunday, The Back Forty just seems to fit... I change my vote...

Hornings Gold ?

kinda seems like a gold mine to me. I envision a Marriott and a Mortons out there someday. Perhaps a parking garage and valet too

Right, I do hope you're joking. the name actually came from Jman, his thoughts were because it is a Gold Tee course, (a rating in the PDGA system if you did not know, there are also Blue, White and Red Tee course ratings) and the he said he liked the way it sounded, like a nice whiskey. Since it was discriptive of the KIND of course it was, it was sounding like a good name. We shall never have such things as a hotel out here, the courses simply seemed like a good fit, for we are a park.

my votes are for:

OHM or HH3 for the baskets.

Horning's Gold for the course.

keep it simple since the round certainly won't be. Thanks for bringing in my red putter I spaced on yesterday, Bob.
