Default Seattle DGC Meeting 10/10/09 - Can you make it?

OK, it's taken a while, but it's officially happening--the Seattle Disc Golf Club is having a meeting! Saturday, Oct. 10th at 7:00 PM. As of now, we're looking to keep the meeting at about an hour's worth of time. Obviously, there's lots of stuff to talk about that would take way more than an hour, but what isn't covered at this first meeting can be discussed at meetings down the road.

We have a couple options of places to meet, but I'd like to see what the expected turnout will be before we settle on a location. FYI, all the locations are in the N. Seattle/Shoreline vicinity, if that affects your availability at all.

I'll be there for sure Tim, even if it were held in Oregon. Glad to see we are finally having our meeting!!!

I am flying home from Mumbai, India a few hours before that. I can play a round at seatac to kill a few hours, then I will attend the meeting. I agree this is a great thing and I hope you allow a Snohomo county person to join as well.

Who's up for a round at 3:00 at Seatac on the 10th? Between jetlag and diarrhea, you should win some $'s off me.

I'm in BA! I know if I'm on my game I can get to within 10 strokes of you. Maybe Jessie, Oz and some other Lake Stevens brothers will want to make the trip out there to meet you. By the way I'm in Snohomish County as well.

*sigh* I guess if we're letting Snohomish guys through the doors, you may as well come too... And BA, I'll see if we can't reserve a seat close to the bathroom for ya.

Seriously though, anybody in the greater Seattle area is more than welcome. Heck, even if you're from outside the area, you're more than welcome. I'm hoping some east side representation will be there too. Also on another note, I know at least several of the people coming to the meeting aren't members on here, but still check the forums. So if you're reading this, don't have an account, and want to come, an RSPV to my email wouldn't be frowned upon. timcoye [at] gmail.com

I'll be there... I will try to get a few others to join me, and I'll spread the word. Let's all try to get as many people excited about this as possible.

Indeed, I think I'm still going to PA but will have to likely leave early to make it back here for the meeting...

What do you mean Aaron? I'm reading this the same way as Andrew, and actually I'm considering the same plan of action, too.

BAD NEWS! The meeting is postponed, see the forwarded email from Chris (Lowell's wife) I got earlier this morning:

Quote:
Lowell does not have pneumonia -- what he has is CHF (chronic heart failure). Apparently one of the valves in his heart is not working properly. It is fixable, but he had to be admitted to the hospital ASAP and he will be having surgery sometime this week. (at Northwest) He will have to postpone the meeting. I have to go. I'll check back next time I'm home.

Chris
Let's all wish Lowell the best in his illness. I'll post more information as I learn it.
