Default Courses to play for Team Golf?

Treelove says:

Quote:
TDG Courses (less than 100 mi. from 97202) I'd like to see played in 2009-2010:

1 McIver
2 Adair
3 Lucky Mud
4 Trojan
5 Pier
6 Dabney
7 Sorosis
8 Willamette
9 Skyline (no pads)
10 Horning's (no pads)
11 Timber
12 Cascades Gateway
13 Waterloo (no pads)
14 Rooster
15 Hagg (no pads)
16 N Bonneville?
17 Keizer Rapids?

(take away the No Pads and the "?" and there are still 11 18+hole courses)
I think the following are a must and have worked well in the past:

Milo
Timber
Pier
Sirosis
Adair
Dabney
Trojan

To round things out, the following would be good:

Hornings (new course should be in and have pads)
Milo (a second time is worth it)
Lucky Mud (ideal for Team Golf)
Willamette (should be a fun one but no shelter) (is there?)

Of course the Course selection is up to Jordan and he has the last word. He is THE man!

What about Camp Tadmor they have 18 holes and concrete Tee pads plus shelter. one of Oregons oldest course its private but during the winter months the camp is not used and all you have to do is call ahead to play no cost. Willamette has a shelter and would be better than Adair just down the road from each other. I talk to Bob Horning and he said the two course will have tee pads by October. Nothing like putting some pressure on Jordan his head must be about ready to blow. What ever you decide is great Jordan I just want to play and that what makes team golf great in oregon so many to choose from.

I think that would be awesome!!

I'd also like to throw Skyline out there. I realize it would be a bummer to pay for our rounds but it would be THE SHIZZZ to play team golf with carts

We might be able to get a "per team" lower rate

Is it accessible by Hoveround though? We need to think about everyone here, including the old people.

What? Seriously? Can I get a show of hands?

I suppose Willamette might better than Adair, in the same way that Dabney is better than Milo...

PS: Adair has a shelter, too. Oh, plus the course is way more fun and challenging.

PPS: No getting butt-hurt. I like Willamette too. But if I had to choose between Willamette and Adair, my choice would easily be Adair.

PPPS: I like Dabney too. Refer to my quoted list.

Tadmor sounds fun, I hear it is very challenging, I have never been. I wonder how well the ownership would deal with all the apple pie, etc., though...

I like Adair too but Im not a big fan of rubber and two of the rubber tees go up hill instead of flat. So if I had a choice between Adair and Willamette I would go Willamette all the way. Concrete is always better than rubber when it rains.

Adair is a good course I love the holes in the wooded areas. you have to bounce off 15 trees to get to the basket and when its raining you have to stand on a raft while your putting going by the basket. (joking). Treelove its good for you to learn how to throw lefty holes you need to work on your side arm because you like to play milo so much and there is all those lefty holes in the woods.

I hate Adair and Willamette is nice but too short with some of the fairways dangerously close to each other. Unless we have a team from down there I vote we don't travel at all. During the winter it's cold and dark, let's stay close to home!

I happen to LOVE Adair but I agree with Jefe's thoughts...I don't feel like driving 4hours on a Sunday back a forth for a TDG event more than once. My $0.02.

Default Team Golf Courses

1. I think it should be local to all the teams involved. Within 50 miles.
2. The course should have a covered picnic area.
3. Concrete T-pads or at least play before the rainy season.
4. I think Leverich would be a good choice. You can play
24 holes or 12 + 6 safari holes.
5. You can play from the asphalt path for most of the holes
at Bonneville - I like Bonneville..

Cheers

Word!! I would hate to see TDG become more of a commitment than it already is. I love TDG because it keeps me playing in the winter, but doesn't eat up my weekends like tourney golf does in the summer. My vote is for playing courses that are no more than an hour from downtown Portland, Sorosis being the only exception.

Ditto I agree too driving more than an hour on a weekend day is just too much. As much as I like Adair it is just a bit too far.

So now we need Gawain to restrict his list to 65 miles from downtown p-town? Does that blow out trojan?
