It's pretty simple the scorecards have 4-5 lines each has a card suit. Heart, diamond, club, spade. The rub is not just who you are paired with but also the grouping

Grouping
When you draw your card you write your name on the line by the correct suit. also starting hole number

The first 6 holes you play with your suit color,
then next 6 Diamond/Spade Heart/club are paired
then last 6 Diamond/Club Heart /spade are teams.

Scoring
First 6 hole The reds shot -5 the blacks +2

next 6 diamond,spade shoot -1 Heart/ club shoot +2

Diamond is now -6, spade +1 heart -3 club +4

last 6 diamond /club +4 Spade heart -3

Diamond is -2
heart is -6
spade even
club +8

Cali
after deciding teams and cali. Cali draws one card to see which group he plays with.
first 6 he plays cali.
second 6 he is paired with exact match suit and color odd suit same color next 6 cali
last 6 plays with same color different suit. exact match plays 6 cali

Thanks to Jim O Conner for coming up with the format and the custom cards

That is the most confusing rules to doubles ever, why not just play doubles like every other course in the area?

There are plenty of other opportunities to play traditional doubles. We decided that we needed some other reason to drive to TR on a Sunday. You should try it a couple of times. It actually works really well. I guess this means you won't like hardest shot then either.

The only weekend I know it won't happen in Aug is the 17th JWO weekend.

It sounds like it could be alot of fun if I understood how it works well, I am just so confused as how the payout(s?) works here. I usually don't play doubles in a course with holes longer than 400feet because I can't drive more than 300-325 at best so most of the time guys with the big arms get paired up and dominate, this is just how doubles seems to work on long courses, this is why I play doubles at Lake Stevens, I have a chance to cash. So anyway... This is every sunday right? I will give it a shot in the next couple of sundays to try it out and if I like it I will stick to it.
