Ryan you may want to consider a 13th hole, I think in order to have the rounds rated you need 13 holes or you must combine two rounds into a 24 holes layout. You can chat with Chuck Kennedy on this one, he will have additional information surrounding the PDGA handling of a 12 hole tournament.

There are currently two divisions for juniors available when you register online, but we will open more if needed. Players born after 1993 that would like to request placement in a Youth III or IV division should include their birthdate with their registration.

Youth I is for those born 1990 or later.
Youth II is for those born 1993 or later.

By my math that means Youth I is for those that are were 18 years old on January 1st this year, and Youth II for those 15 years old on January 1st.

Thanks for the head's up. I'm about fairly certain that the minimum for ratings is 12 holes, but I'll check.

Default YAR!

Looks like we have some more candidates for Reading For Comprehension 101!

Doing the research on the PDGA tournament directors report, it looks like 13 holes is the magic number for each round. However, I think I was told that the 13 hole requirement is for course rating, but not necessary for a player rating. I'll do some more checking and we'll definitely consider adding a 13th hole.

Its 13..... not sure WHY??
But that is the number required for rounds to be rated...

You could always combine 2 rds into a 24 for your reports, just as we add the Alpine 9 to an 18 to get ratings at Lava Launch.

Yeah, Steve and I talked about it earlier. I could have sworn I read somewhere that it was 12, but no biggie, we have a contingency plan. We're just going to add another hole to make it three rounds of 13.

DID I MENTION THAT THE PLAYER'S PACK INCLUDES TWO DISCS!

Registration is just about 20% full! If you're wanting to play this event, I'd suggest registering sooner rather than later!

This is just from a case of curiosity, and not an attempt to "poke the bear." Is there any chance that there will be some 150g class discs available in the players packs? I am hoping to bring my wife's son to this event, but I know he'd be bummed if the players pack discs were too heavy for him. Again, just curious. Thanks!

Yes Sir! There will be a wide variety of weights, including some 150s.

Hopefully the lighter weights will be put aside for the juniors and women to have a chance at. What I have found is if I am not at the front of the line all the light weights are gone for what ever reason.

Good to know that I was not spewing junk all over the forums. I seem to remember having this conversation with Chuck Kennedy once in regards to number of holes needed to achieve a player rating. I believe it used to be 12 but was changed sometime ago, possible around the time they figured out why the offsets were not figured correctly in areas that had no highly rated players.

Yes, and there IS a Novice division forming. Hopefully is doesn't get filled with "Baggers".
