Default Discatchers Spotted along I-90!!

We were coming back from the Windy River in Tri-Cities yesterday when at about 7:45 disccatchers were spotted on the north side of I-90 somewhere between Cle Elum and Easton. At the time we did not make note of the e location because we thought it was a new course. However I can not find it on any Course Directory. Does anyone have any info on it. Looks like it will be a nice course off the Interstate to stop at when traveling between tournaments!

Sounds like it must be this place: http://www.ratpactrail.com/ratpacdiscgolf.htm

(If you click on the "photos" link, you'll see some pictures of DISCatchers.)

That's cool! It looks like it's a course in development.. One of these days I'll stop by it and play a round..

What happened? The link is dead, and I can't find anything. I want to add this to the new Washington disc golf map at www.wadiscgolf.com !

I know, it looks like their domain might have expired and got taken over by a squatter. On the other hand, the "whois" info still shows Michael Kidder of Cle Elum as the owner; his e-mail address is visible here: http://whois.domaintools.com/ratpactrail.com

By the way, Gawain, I'd like to put your name on that map instead of mine. What URL or e-mail address should I link your name to?

This actually sounds like good news. The guy putting the course in could have soured the city council on the idea of a DG course but they agree with him that it is needed in the community. Plus, going from 5 acres to 10 acres should make for a better course. Win-win, really - thought it might seem like a temporary loss.

Default Daily Cle Elum Disc Golfer

To bad you guys missed out on this course while it lasted....it was a riot...except for the occasional train driving past blowing its horn. The baskets were pulled a few weeks back for anyone who was driving past.....but the good news is Mike has all the baskets and the city has approved a new peice of land. He is in the process of designing the new course on land around one of the local ponds. The old 18 was on 5 acres with a bit of cross traffice, the new one will be on a 75 acre stretch of the same type of land....not a bad upgrade if I do say so myself. If you have questions or would like to help plant the course contact Mike cleelumbike@hotmail.com

I read the Article, and the posts to go with it. They "Can't wait for some Frisbee teams to start." The local towns will each have a Frisbee team! Reminds me of the people at W.O.U. and how they thought "Ultimate Frisbee" and "Disc Golf" were the same thing. It was a girl's college, so I just played along. "Cool, thanks, I like your Frisbee too!"

What about the land behind the elementary school? There is an existing 'rinky-dink' course with posts as targets and wooden pallets for teepads, that was set up for a senior 'fling' or something-- the course is super short and not worth playing in my opinion, but I think that the woods back there would be ideal for a dgc. There is some elevation change, meandering trails and dirt roads that carve through a heavy to moderately wooded area.
Paging Adam Schneider, can we get a aerial photo stat?

I can post a link if you can tell me exactly where you're talking about, map-wise.

The area is directly behind the track and softball fields located at the elementary and junior high schools a few miles outside of town... I will try a google search and get back to you.
Thanks for all that you do to inform/aid the disc golf community!

Yeah, I found that address on Google Maps, but I don't see anything that looks like a school there, only the ghost of an oval track. There's something that looks like a school to the southeast of there, but I don't know if it's the high school or elementary school or what. Are you talking about the woods just east of Bullfrog Road around the powerline cut?

Great first post my frined.

Anywho, do you have any information regarding the status of the 'new' course (location) that was being discussed after the baskets were pulled from the I-90 course?
Thanks either way.
