Default Great Tournament

I played in this event last year and it was a great tournament. The temporary layout for the open divisions is very difficult with shots that will challenge the most experienced players. The am's are looked after too, with almost every hole having an am pad.

The tournament was well organized and ran smoothly. The free Starbucks coffee was a nice touch too.

Get your passports and I'll see you there.

I have now played 12 courses in and around Vancouver and although the courses are fairly short, the temp courses are a lot of fun. The locals are great too. If I could, I would go with you Dan.

You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.

Default 2011 Burnaby Open CFR Discs

Hello All,

For this year's tournament, we've ordered some Champion Fund Raiser Discs from Innova and some Glow Champion Cobras.

Each CFR disc comes with a Sponsor Rewards Program certificate, which you can use to enter Innova Gear Drawings.
The Cobras do not come with this certificate.

http://www.innovadiscs.com/custom-discs/cfr-program/cfr-sponsor-rewards.html

One lucky winner will receive the Sponsor's Exemption to this years United States Disc Golf Championship in Rock Hill, SC.

These discs are available with a Custom 2011 Burnaby Open Hotstamp:

Glow Champion Destroyer 170g-175g
Glow Champion Firebird 165g-175g
Glow Champion Leopard 151g-175g

We also have, with just an Innova Swoosh stamp:

Glow Champion Cobra 170g-180g

The price per disc is $18.00, or two for $32.

We also have 2010 Burnaby Open t-shirts available for $10 each. (Sizes: L, XL, 2XL) These are Black, Hanes Tag-less Tees.

Supply is limited, and 23 destroyers, 15 firebirds, 18 leopards, and 18 cobras have already been spoken for, so reserve your CFR discs soon.

E-mail bburbee@telus.net
or
Call/Text: 604-318-8058

Cash, Cheque, and PayPal are all accepted,

All proceeds go to the 2011 Burnaby Open.

If you won't be able to make it, but would like to support us, please contact me.
I would be happy to ship your discs to you, and if you buy 4 or more items (3 discs+1 shirt, etc...) I'll pay the shipping!

Please help make this a fantastic event!

Default Practice Round this Saturday

If you're not sure if you want to come to the tournament, come check out the course this Saturday, Feb 12th.

We'll be meeting at the parking lot visible from Wedgewood St. at 1st St., Burnaby:

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=I-...,0.574036&z=11

It will be set up by 10:30am, when there will be singles play.

Then at 1:30pm we'll be doing a random flip doubles for $7 a head.

This is the round that will be played this Saturday, and the Saturday morning of the 2011 Burnaby Open:
For reference: Hole 18a is 584', and the course length is about 6880'.

If you can't make it this weekend, I'm planning on setting it up again either Feb 19th or March 12th. I'll keep you all in the loop.

Over 1/4 of the CFR Discs are reserved, talk soon if you want some cool glow plastic with this logo:

As always feel free to e-mail me with questions: bburbee@telus.net

Hope to see you there,

Brent

Default 2nd Practice Round

For those who couldn't (or didn't want to) come out last weekend:

Saturday, February 19th, the 2011 Burnaby Open Sunday layout will be set up.

Course will be set by 9am, roughly. Please come out and play at your leisure.

Please Respect other park users and Do Not destroy any plantlife

At 1:30 I will be there organizing a Doubles for $7 ($5-$1-$1)

Be forewarned that this course is epic. It's about 400ft longer than the Black Rose in Kamloops. 20 holes, approx 7900ft, with lots of elevation change.

Hope to see you out there!

Brent

Default Fast Approaching

Hello All,

Less than 2 weeks away!

The CFR Discs are here, 74 out of 100 are gone.
There are 19 2011 Burnaby Open stamped discs (2 Destroyers, 10 Firebirds, 7 Leopards), and 7 Cobras (Innova Stamp).

If you want one, tell me and I'll hang on to it until we can meet or I'll send it to you.

bburbee@telus.net to reserve your discs.

The Hilton deal seems pretty good, but if you're looking for something cheaper and closer to the course (less than 10 min walk to tourney central)
Check out the Happy Day Inn:

http://www.booking.com/hotel/ca/happy-day-inn.en.h...clid=CNm4obnvw

2 nights for under $120 Canadian. Includes breakfast. Only 7 rooms left, but free cancellation up to two days before.

Hope to see a bunch of you up here!
