If you want to fill pages, it will be a tough pull to get interest across all content from everyone. It doesn't look easy to me. What happens to those ball golf mags except to land on the doctor's waiting room table? Obviously, there is a advertising base that wants to see circulation happen more than anyone. The bucks they spend will produce returns. If they want content, it is they who will have to fork out. If anyone thinks DG will produce the level of circulation any time soon that will fund decent content, I would think they are dreaming.

When it comes to content, you can get, you will get, what someone pays for. I'd say go for tons of photos. Our sport is nothing if not photogenic. The courses and the golfers make for great pictures. Come up with continuing features of all kinds. Course designing and awesome holes. Disc physics and techy stuff. Interviews and player spotlights go without saying. Include some international scope. Showcase a few killer dye jobs in every issue. DG Humor. Innovate (no endorsement or pun intended).

It's the written content that will be the most challenging. It's going to be hard to not have it look like infomercials. A real effort should go to preventing that. When the mag starts looking like junk mail, you know where it will go. It will be tough, and take a lot, to make something every DGer can't wait to get. I hope the writing will pay enough to eventually get a good many submissions rejected. Get the standard up there and keep it there. The bar is set high by the mags in any field that survive. I hope DG gets a survivor someday.

Ol' Bob, that may be the least digressive post you've ever written.

Well, whoever tells 'em, they should tell 'em to pay something for reproducing that art. After all, that's going to sell mags, discs, and all the rest.

After looking at my new issue I think the content is actually better than the previous issue. They are moving in the right direction in my opinion.

Default Have it your way, dude.

Well, to tell the truth, mine is still wrapped in plastic. I was so disappointed with the last few, that I haven't bothered. I will get around to eventually opening it when the power goes out and I finish those novels... oh and that crocheting project... and get bored of putting practice... I'll let you know when I can form an opinion about the latest one. I'm busy right now... I'm kind of a big deal...

hmmm you read novels when you go #2? anyone who dosent have at least 1 if not 5 disc golf related material sitting by the john is a fake and should just quit the game, donate their discs to DDGA and take up badmition.

Needs a crossword puzzle... or word search... or something.
