2- play atleast 15 sanctioned events.
3- travel for 5 events.
4- qualify for USDGC.
5- keep rating 1000+ preferably 1010+.
6- win 3-5 events.
7- cash in all events played.
8- pick up some sponsorships.
9- get my wife to play some tourneys (this is the biggest of them all).

1.) Play in at least 7 tourneys.
2.) Place in top 5 in all tourneys played.
3.) Improve my putting to the point I move from Intermediate to Advanced Am.
4.) Get more people playing.
5.) Get Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation to let me build my course at Sullivan Park.
6.) Finally get my drives to 450 plus consistently (400 is my average)
7.) Perfect my spin drive so I can crush them over 500 with control (no more nose down drives!!!)
8.) Have fun like always.
9.) Play Trojan, Milo, Pier, Hornings, Whistler's, Lucky Mud and Adair.
10.) Get my baskets approved by the PDGA and start selling them!

1. Continue to work on driving farther and more accurate.
2. Continue to work on putting confidence.
3. Play fifty courses I haven't played yet.
4. Play in three states I haven't played yet.
5. Start playing tournaments.
6. Work on my sidearm game.
7. Meet new people and make new friends.
8. Work on my mental game.
9. Introduce more people to disc golf.
10. Carry out as much trash as I can at every course I play.

That's about the right order.

Here's the real goal for a modern day disc golfing dad who wants to spend loads of time with the kids while balancing work and disc golf.

Improve my rating by 20 points while only doing the following...

1. Practice putting only prior to rounds and during lunch break at work.
2. Practice dives only prior to rounds plus one additional hour per week at the nearby school field.
3. Play only one casual round per week; that round being a weekly $5 random doubles.
4. Play only 5 tournaments.

If you're driving 400 ft and looking to drive 450 you shouldn't be playing int anymore. If you're crushing 500 you should probably be playing pro since most pros don't drive that far.

Thread drift.. but yeah I agree, I average 350 and place well in Intermediate.
As for putting practice, I find 15 minutes a night to be the biggest factor in my improvement, and I got a 3 year old who loves to play disc golf and lasts 9-18 holes every time.
Add to my goal, get my boy to last 18 holes more often.

My son just turned 6 and when he was about 4 he could go 18 strong. Your son should be outlasting you soon.

I was going to say the same thing. i dont care how bad your putting is. if you can hit 500 you should never even consider intermediate.

But what if your 500 foot drive leaves you a thousand feet farther from the basket?

He's probably talking about downhill with a tailwind, because I know of maybe 3 people in Spokane that can do close to 450 consistently.

Of course, one of them plays Intermediate and belongs there due to severe consistency issues :D

My goals for 2010: Learn to drive accurately consistently, learn to approach with finesse and accuracy, and learn to putt.

Some of these are carry overs from this year:

1) Throw 450' (Just broke 400' yesterday)
2) Be consistantly 10/10 20' and in.
3) Have 8/10 consistantcy from 30'
4) Play 7 more courses (including Whistlers)
5) Get an ace (doesn't hurt to put it right?)
6) Score 900+ rated rounds in a tournament (Right now I've had one but my second round was below)
7) Get a membership and get my rating over 880.
8) Host a fundraiser tournament for the Western Oregon Disc Golf Club.

That's good for now

my goals are
1. continue to improve
2. have an injury free season( last two years were a torn tricep and a bulged disc)
3. get downrivers new layout complete(for 2010 season) have 36 holes at highbridge done and help get plantes ferry and stateline curses done
4. have a lot of fun

and i don't care how far you can drive it doesn't in any way determine what devision you play in. the dev. you play is and should be determined by your scoring average.

4 rejoin PDGA play 10+ Sanc. Events

5 Try at least 25 New Ale's,Porters,Stouts, certain Belgian's, and of course a good Pilsner on a hot summer day is awesome...

1. Have even more fun golfing (if that is even possible)
2. Be able to reach 350 at will and accurately
3. Have the highest player rating in Casa de grasseth
4. Develop a reliable forehand
5. Dominate a B tour or better in my division

The third and fifth one might be a stretch but a guy can dream!
