Default Horning's Course #2

Bob Horning says the second, shorter course was supposed to be finished this week, but due to the constant rainy weather it'll be delayed a few days. It should be open by the weekend of 11/22 for sure.

(The issue is that he has to pick the baskets up from the sandblasting place and take them home to paint them; if it's rainy, the freshly blasted metal will rust almost instantly before he can get the paint on.)

All 18 holes of the new course have already been marked with little orange flags, and it's mostly ready to go with the exception of a bit more clearing of vine maples in the new fairways. I'm going to try to get out there this week to map it.

Bob says the baskets will be picked up from the sandblaster today, painted on Monday or Tuesday, and installed by next weekend.

Pfft. 40 feet of water. What kind of psyche is that?

I am so looking forward to this new course! The location is simply the best, and now to have 2 choices, looks like I'll have to play both. It's going to get really tough when there is a third choice.

I fail to see the dilemma.

The only dilema I see would be choosing which one to start with, and which one to end with... Yay, Bob!!!

I envision a warm up round on the short course, a round or two on the long course, followed by a cool down round on the short course.

Well if you've ever looked at the terrain for the "short" course you know that it play WAY uphill, so I'm not sure you're going to do much cooling down Scott.

I wouldn't call it WAY uphill. The steepest uphill hole (#3) has about 20 feet of elevation gain. And I suspect Scott was talking about cooling down your arm anyway.

Went out today and played 3 rounds, 2 warm ups on the small course, shot a -4 on the first round and a nice -10 on the second, then a round on the big course, i believe I shot either -1 or even. doesn't matter, still a solid round.

Thanks for the courses Bob.
