Default The 2013 Zoo Town Open, presented by Prudential Missoula Properties

Calling all disc golfers in the Northwest and beyond to the 2013 Zoo Town Open in Missoula, MT, presented by Prudential Missoula Properties! We’re extremely excited about this year’s event on June 22 and 23, which is a PDGA A-Tier event, a Vibram Open Qualifier, and a participant in the EDGE TCP program. Most importantly, coming to the ZTO is the best damn time you can have this disc golf season!

As in years past, we expect the ZTO to fill extremely quickly (we’re limited to under 100 players by the Forest Service). The lucky folks who secure spots in the field will be treated to phenomenal players’ packs and prizes for amateurs, a deep payout that will be the envy of events with twice the number of players (minimum $3000 added cash), our legendary best-in-the-west raffle, lots of extras and an unrivaled player experience! Come take a trip to Missoula this June and we guarantee you won’t regret it. We have two great courses in store this year: Missoula’s signature disc golf course, Blue Mountain DGC—now with a full slate of tee pads—and the valley’s newest gem, a terrific course at the scenic Linda Vista (Ball) Golf Course. We’re happy to welcome Linda Vista and its fantastic facilities to the fold, and we are confident it will be VERY well received.

Due to the limited number of spots and high demand, pre-registration for the 2013 ZTO will occur in a few different stages. You’ll notice that we are trying hard to assemble the biggest and best women’s field in ZTO history! We will also have a Sunday-only Juniors division for which no pre-registration will be required. All pre-registration will occur online—visit our brand-spankin’-new ZTO website, which will be up in the next few days, for information about registration as well as everything else you could possibly want to know. Check it out at www.zootownopen.com.

You will need to plan ahead to be a part of the action. Here are the important registration dates:

March 27: Registration opens for all men rated 1000 or over, all Silver, Gold and Platinum Sponsors (see below), and ALL WOMEN’S DIVISIONS.

April 10: Registration opens for ALL. First-come, first-serve until we’re full. We will keep a waiting list. Five Touring Pro spots and ten women’s-only spots will be reserved until June 10, when all unfilled spots will be released to the waiting list.

The waiting list will also be first-come, first-serve, except that Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors will be moved to the front of the list.

We’ll play two shotgun-start rounds on the Blue Mountain ZTO Layout on Saturday, and one round with tee times at Linda Vista on Sunday. Don’t miss Friday random-draw doubles at Linda Vista—rent your own golf cart to save energy for the tournament.

Advanced Women, Intermediate Ams, and Advanced Masters will play a few short tees on both Saturday and Sunday. All other divisions will play the same courses and will thus be eligible for Vibram Open Qualifying! As in years past , it will cost $10 to be eligible for the Vibram Quaifier spot, and each qualifier will be awarded half the fees collected towards their entry, with the share of fees for any unclaimed spots being donated to EDGE.

Entry fees include an $8 course fee for Linda Vista and the $5 online reg fee, but do not include the optional $2 ace pot or an additional $10 PDGA fee for non-current, non-Junior amateurs, and are as follows: Open Men, $108; Pro Masters, Pro Grandmasters, and Pro Women, $103; Advanced Amateurs and Advanced Masters, $68; Intermediate Amateurs, $58; Advanced Women, $48; and Juniors (one round on Sunday) $15.

Sponsorship Information!

$25 Hole Sponsorship—You will be recognized on one hole’s tee sign.

$100+ Silver Sponsorship—You will be recognized on one hole’s tee sign, your name will be included on the sponsors’ banner at tournament central, and your name will be included on player handouts and the new ZTO website.

$200+ Gold Sponsorship—In addition to the benefits for Silver Sponsors, you’ll have the option to replace your name on all materials with your logo, and will receive prominent recognition on the ZTO website. You’ll also receive the Gold VIP package for the weekend.

$500+ Platinum Sponsorship—Platinum sponsors receive free entry to the tournament, and in addition to all benefits for Gold Sponsors, you’ll have the option to provide a banner to be displayed at both courses during the tournament. You’ll also receive the Platinum VIP package for the weekend.

We’ve got LOTS of great extras to tell you about as well, including nearly a week’s worth of events leading up to the tournament...check out our new website for more information. We are pulling out all the stops to welcome the world to Missoula this year…don’t miss being a part of something special!

There was never a "truer statement" ever uttered!

Even though I can't attend I will once again support this fine event, it's sponsors and most importantly the locals who bust their asses to make this a blowout.

Thank you for making special arrangements to encourage a larger women's field at the ZTO. It is appreciated.

I'm also thrilled about the new course....although I will miss the fox kits at Ft Missoula.

Montana disg golf never fails to impress!

Big Sky Brewery is once again teaming up with the ZTO to provide a very small run of custom labeled bottles as a fundraiser for the event. Not sure all the details yet.

We are pleased to announce that Mystery Ranch will once again be a big supporter of the ZTO!! There will be a Golf Mahal up for raffle. Only 100 raffle tickets will be available and only with your online registration. There will be a max of 5 tickets per person. If there are still tickets available when registration fills, they will be sold on a first come first served basis.

Full color fundraiser Buzzzes will also be available with your registration, too.

Just wondering about the "Downriver Open Qualifier" spots? I heard there was no DRO this year, so will there be another tourney where I can qualify for ZTO, like Lilac City Open perhaps?

Yes, the DRO spots will be awarded at the "Downriver Re-Open." We're also going to expand the ZTO Qualifiers experiment to the Spring Classic at Camas Hot Springs, May 18 in Hot Springs, MT, where another two spots will be awarded.

Registration will open at 8:00 MST tomorrow (April 10th) and will be capped at 100 total players, not counting Juniors. Once registration is full, you will need to email td@zootownopen.com to be placed on the wait list. There is a good chance several people will get in off the wait list.

Here is more info copied from the GCF site:

PRE-REG FOR ALL WILL OPEN TOMORROW AT 8 PM MOUNTAIN TIME. At 8 pm, a link will appear on the "home" page of GCF, and will also be linked to on the front page of zootownopen.com.
A few things about pre-registration and the waiting list.
First off, we are still reserving 15 spots for women (10 spots) and touring pros (5), until June 10th. On the 10th at 12:01 am, any unclaimed spots will be released to the waitlist. Due to our success at signing up lots of folks early who might have otherwise taken those spots, we believe that there will be a significant number of people who get into the tournament after being initially placed on the waitlist. So: if you're wait-listed, don't despair! You've got a good shot at getting in. We've got the four qualifier spots, some of which may go unclaimed, the 15 spots mentioned above, and any cancellations. We will keep the waitlist on the PDGA pre-registration site (http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/99588), using a new feature they've got for this year.
As previously mentioned, we are also going to offer a "Waitlist Bump" for sponsors, until June 9th at midnight. Folks in each sponsorship level (silver, gold, platinum) will be automatically slotted to the front of the line for their level. So, platinum sponsors go to the very front; gold sponsors get slotted in behind platinum sponsors, silver behind gold but in front of the non-sponsor waitlist. This way, the wait list will be "set" by the time any unclaimed touring pro or women's spots are released to the waitlist, and folks will be able to plan accordingly.
If you get in to the tournament from the waitlist, you will be contacted by Brian or myself, at which point you'll have 48 hours to say "Yes" and get your entry fee in. Once the 48 hours has passed, your spot will be awarded to the next person in line. One week before the tournament, this time frame will switch to 24 hours so that we can make sure to fill all available spots.
REFUND POLICY.
• A player may officially withdraw only by contacting the Tournament Director at td@zootownopen.com.
• Discussions with persons other than the Tournament Directors, including other tournament staff, shall not be considered official. Phone calls are also not considered official.
• Withdrawals made before midnight on June 7th will be refunded 100%, less the online registration fee.
• Withdrawals made before midnight on June 17th will be refunded 100%, less one hole sponsorship ($25) and the online registration fee.
No refunds will be issued after midnight on June 17th.
