Default Rizzle at the River, Auburn WA...

AKA, The Tournament formerly known as the White River Open.

http://www.pdga.com/event?TournID=8951

Now, am I right in assuming that this is the second WA Series event to have it's date changed from the original date set (http://www.discgolftacoma.com/schedules/2009/2009waseriessched.htm). The first being the Steilli Spring Classic. I bring it up because this is yet another event that I won't be able to play in because of the date change. I'm struggling internally with my cynicism about the rest of the dates.

Oh, and what is a Rizzle?

Looks like its May 16-17. Its going to be quite a busy month for the WA series. 3 tourneys in one month!

I imagine this is a separate event. This is only a C-tier (all other WA series are B-tiers), and the White River Open is slotted for July 18-19. Bumping it a weekend or two is one thing, but moving it forward by months is another. I'm pretty sure you can still count on playing WRO.

Good Catch with the C-Tier. I retract my earlier statement.

If I'm confused then sorry about my cynicism, but this is the point of reference that confused me: http://discgolfer.ning.com/xn/detail/1809917:Event:1706333

Under the "Tournament Type" keywords are "pdga, c*, tier, event, washington, state, series".

For the record, I hope you're right and I'm wrong. Just don't tell my wife.

Hmm...that does seem suspicious.

The White River Open renamed the Rizzle at The River awesome event come and play. You can sign up at mando's or wait til it's up on pdga
I don't think it's been officially announced on here, but the WA series is undergoing very similar issues to the OR series. If the "White River Open" is indeed moving to May, that is a cluster****, no doubt about it.

Try a regionalized calendar, like the one here: click CALENDAR at the top of the page. It is a combined extraction of sources like:

ning
pdga
nwdiscgolfnews
discgolftacoma
orsdiscgolf
and much much much more!

I don't profess it to be accurate, but I do work on it almost every single day, trying to keep it up to date, correct, and current. Problem is, I don't have much to go on except rumor and inuendo. When someone OFFICIALLY figures out what's up with White River, and the WA Series, if they would kindly post it here, I will gladly update the calendar.

OK. To clarify, THESE ARE TWO SEPARATE TOURNAMENTS!

I just got off the phone with Mr. Bontempo. He doesn't understand why the posting for the Rizzle says the the WRO is being renamed (it is not). The WRO is a B-tier WA series event. The Rizzle is a C-tier event.

Sorry if I created any confusion. I should've called Tom with my concerns before posting my frustration here. But, I hope that this will lead to some one else not being confused and frustrated.

In other news, Tim is right about the "shift" the WA series is undergoing. Luckily for WA, Paul Wright and Tom Bontempo are stepping up and handling the series through the year. Big thanks to these well respected ambassadors to Disc Golf.

Cool, then I don't have to change the calendar (for the next 30 seconds...) Thanks for posting the straight dope.
