Its not red, but they will save your nightvision just the same.

The latter can be had at your local home depot without the need for online ordering, while ive heard great things about the former being a quality light.

I am not sure how often I would make a weekly event but I'd love to join you for a evening round to check out the nightlife at Pier. I live in St Johns. PM me some time when you have room for 1 more person.

I would play. Pier is great for glow golf. Dollar Tree for glow sticks for the baskets and glow necklaces for the occasional tree here and there. Depending on turnout it could be as little as $1 to $2 a person.

I prefer the LED method. Yet to have a problem using clear duct tape. I use red for all but champion glow plastic, which I use UV LED. Dim but can spot when you get within 20 feet or so.

Now I've got a yearnin' to check my LED and battery supply...

Just for info at Woodmansee in Salem I took my light from backyard setup to a glow round and they seemed to like it a lot. It's an umbrella light from home depot online Its a led light setup that clamps onto top of pole and shines down into basket and surrounding area. called ritelite item LPL1040BX.
Just a comment for what it's worth.
trying to attach photo, hope it works to show it to you in use.
Steve

I WILL be starting a glow golf night(s) at shelton springs
maybe on the 1st Fri. of the month @ 5:30p.m.

I will post when I know the date(s) and start time for sure

I will be asking for a 1-3 dollar donation per person (depending on how many people show up),
to help pay for glow stick/basket lighting supplies, as it will all be coming out of my pocket

in preparation for upcoming rounds at shelton springs

i have got a fleet of red and uv leds and cr2025 batts. plus some clear duct tape.

The Glow Bag:

i have a uv light for windshield repairs, which should work great for charging glow discs

so I have my old crunch box set up as a glow bag now (pics to follow)

I have mounted the uv light in the bottom of the bag (using vecro from the old disc divider)

then i got some flexible mirror i could cut up (mirror repair kit from auto dept.)
i put it full width on the long sides, and in the lid/top flap.
i also used some smaller pieces in the bottom and on the short sides.

this allows the one uv light, to bounce all over the inside of the bag, lighting all the discs very wel

I have a mountain of glow plastic I would really like to use. My last round was frustrating trying to hide the flash light from the other discers to avoid annoying them, charge the disc, throw it with my eyes not dilated, and then looking for a dim disc in the dark. I'm not a fan of the LEDs/Tape even though they seem to do the best job of lighting, I may have to rethink that. The standard white led flashlights I have used are lame and leave the discs very dim. So before I sell all my Glow Champ off and just buy Opto plastic with lights, I decided to pony up for a decent light to charge those glow discs from Newegg, see link below. We'll see how it works..

I made this. You can turn the light off before you take your disc out. Have not actually used it yet, but tested it and it gets one disc to glow nicely.

Home depot orange glows nice, probably could mark a basket with it as well

That's awesome! I'm gonna use that idea in front of my house for Halloween next year instead of pumpkins! I wonder if you could get a UV black bulb for that light to charge the discs....

Just get yourself a UV flashlight...go to ebay and search for scorpion flashlights...your glow plastic will be hot immediately and it doesn't washout your night vision. Use a red filter, or light, for walking about, and enjoy. If you're playing a course you really know, rethink the idea of lighting the baskets; saves time and money...come on you know where they are. When you get close spot them with your red light.

i think that light should work well
also you can consider using 3volt uv leds (radioshack $1.99 for 2 pack)attached to a cr2025 watch batt
it will give off some extra light and help keep the disc charged a little

I tried those back when I used lights Matt, just not enough power...really folks; if you're using glow plastic spend 20 bucks on a scorpion flash light (that 20 included shipping for mine) and with 40 or so UV bulbs your glow plastic goes to its hot spot right away. Even the newer glow plastics stay hot far beyond what white lights offer...I'm lucky enough to still have the old Photon glow, and once hot I don't have to recharge...if you're going to get serious about glow golfing, and why not during this time of year, shell out the 20 for the right gear...heck I'll wager you spend more than that looking for that holy grail disc.

Jman, I think you quit reading the post, or are skipping around on the thread.
the only light that is not uv, is quenyaistars' bucket light.

Also I was suggesting the uv leds as extra light in addition to charging with a uv flashlight.
