You're right, they don't use a leaderboard, so good luck finding your starting hole #, position in the tournament, groupmates, etc.

Well from the e-mail I got from them, there should only be about 180 people. I should have no problem at all, lol! I was looking at last years results to get an idea of the ever strong MA3 group and the winner shot 22 strokes above #2 and would have taken 7th and intermediate. Now that might be a topic for the sandbagging thread if ever I saw one. Looking forward to fun weekend in Sac Town tho.

So for those that played in the AM tourney what did you think?

I don't remember everyone who said they were going but it sounded like 5-6 Oregonians!

Oh yeah how did you like my prediction for the winner for the average round rating?

To answer Flash, if I were a little better on understanding my teeshot technique, could have parked an average of 5-10 more holes per round. The x9 holes were all easy 2's cept for maybe 2-3 that were do or die 230 footers. The pros are using a 22 hole format so i have no idea which x4 they are using, I am hoping they use the D hole, that was brutal, OB right, OB left, trees everywhere, ironically I birdied that 3rd round whew. If the layout stays the same for Pro weekend, I would expect the leader to be in the -14 to -18 area...
P.S. Don't tell anyone but the "norcal" method of paying out for tournament aces, SUCKS! Period!
They lined up the 3 guys who aced holes during the tournament during awards, announced which hole they aced and then everyone paid who they thought was deserving $1-$5. So the guy who aced the "apparently" easier hole got maybe $20-$30, and the one who aced an island hole which is gutsy got maybe $60 at best. Screw that man, if you ace during a supertour, I would think an easy $100 or something, didn't ORS payout $1200 last year... pfflltt.. I'm glad I didn't ace, $30 bucks are you kidding me. ANYways that just a small part of the game.
For those coming down for pro weekend, please, eat in and out once before you go back home heh. The two guys who stayed here for the weekend actually enjoyed the Rocklin Disc Golf Course, maybe better than Orangevale?
As you can see from my video, you dont need any drivers for long distance, maybe for wind and strong hyzers etc... back to work..

wow, just watched my own video on youtube, gosh they really degrade the quality. On my laptop before all the editing and exporting, I can see every basket crystal clear even through the trees like on holes 5 and 7, in the video you can't even see them... booo... but you all get the idea though. At least now we know what the course looks like...

No, no... we need to get going on the Media link above and make it so that members of good standing can post their videos (and pics) to this site. Will get to working on that.

Well i just got bac k from Cali. All i can say about the tournament is wow! I really enjoyed the course, but it really kicked my ass. The majority of the holes are definitely birdieable, but I seemed to have lost my drives after one round and I think I found my putts under my bed when I got home, because I didn't have those with me.

I agree with Snap about the D hole. Very cool hole, but you have to hit the window just right and you're golden. Otherwise you're screwed. As simple as that.

I would go back and play this course again (especially holes A-I), but really liked Rocklin a little better myself from the last time I was down there. 3 rounds of 27 were definitely more then my arm has been used too.

I was very impressed with the way the tournament was run, being this was my first large tournament.

Heh, control under 300 and putting will win this course easily. Rocklin gets alot of compliments because it is a good mixture of elevation, long and short holes, right and left and there aren't like 50 people smoking and drinking wandering the park hucking cool plastic... hehe... I must admit the tournament was run much better than the last two tournaments i have been to... for those who bish about those in oregon/washington making a profit off disc golf, have never been to the proshop at the course *no permission to quote me*

Made the drive down from Coos Bay to play this tournament and although the course got the best of me I had a great time. Loved the course...played Rocklin as well which was also fun, but Orangevale was a much better tournament course. Stayed with 'Snap7times' which was awesome. If there is anyone coming down for the pro weekend I would encourage you to do the same. Saved a lot of money that way and had a good time.

Derek Billings won the tournament, solid start out of the gate and smart plays down the stretch. Josh Anthon fell apart the last 5 holes to lock in Derek's win. Nate Doss put on the afterburners to catch a crumbling Josh by 1... And of course I got some of it on video, not as much as I usually get cuz there were alot of spectators and I guess I don't get no handicapped parking behind the tee down here like I do in Oregon...
