Hey a huge shout out to Emma & Gary for putting on their first PDGA sanctioned event. Also for all the help & support from Jeff, Mike & Stumptown as well as all the sponsors Next Adventure, Tofurky, BJs Coffee. Everything ran very smoothly, and the weather was awesome. I played two rounds with a couple of kick ass chicks, and one super awesome dude. I can't wait for Slosh #3!

Well run, timely and thoroughly enjoyable. I really appreciate all the hard work and attention to detail that made this such a great event.
Ditto! And Hagertys speech at the end was beautiful

Great job out there Vince!

A big thanks to everyone who came out to the Slosh at Hornings. We especially enjoyed that the Washington folks came down. Made for some good competition, too. Congrats to all the winners. Thanks to Jeff Hagerty for being the man behind the scenes who makes it all go (props to the great rounds, too). And a special thanks to Mike Phillips for helping out counting scores, arranging cards, etc. Above and beyond, I thought. Mike basically spent all of his free time helping us at tourny central. And a shout out to the sponsors: Stumptown Disc Golf, Next Adventure, Tofurky, Rainy Day Games, BJ's Coffee, and Extreme Pizza.

See ya next time,

Garry

Default warm fuzzies!!!

it's been really wonderful to get all the positive feedback from everybody. i am happy to be able to consider my first attempt at td'ing pretty much a complete success. could not have done it without jeff hagerty and mike phillips (who showed up, indeed, in his sandals, board shorts and t-shirt fresh from costa rica). thanks so much for the mentorship and willingness to teach. you boys are the best.

and i don't think my dad's got near enough recognition in this (perhaps because he's a little more on the soft spoken side than i am... he does all the work, i get all the glory). so thank you thank you dad for all your time and effort and doing your best to help me keep my head on straight.

something that i meant to mention during the player's meeting (the first one where i was not yelling at everyone about how bad their math skills are)... i think it's really wonderful that we had such a strong faction of players from the deaf disc golfing community attend the slosh and i hope to see more and more of y'all at future events. that was very cool of all of you to come out. nichola and nathan, you two are wonderful ambassadors and i think it is super cool how you are bringing the clubs together. thank you for your support.

thank you, everyone, for your support.

jessie... i better see you at dabney, girl! you are such a dream to get to watch play.

Emma, I wanted to say this in the forum so it can be on record in some shape or another.

You were right.

The road had one icy spot and I found it. I will be headed over to a shop tomorrow to get the damage estimate. I also found out I played 36 holes with a hand that has a break or two in it, along with some other issues. Time to heal before the next Slosh and this time let someone else drive.

yikes, dude! i can't believe you played with an f'ed up hand... and i am very sorry about your car... i feel your pain and know how it is... if i had a choice i would not drive at all... i have been in definitely more than my share of accidents and it's starting to really freak me out...

i owe a great big thank you, i think it's to the kabza brothers, for driving super slowly on the way up there, if i hadn't been behind them that icy spot might have gotten me as well... as it was, they slowed down to about 15mph and it was just some gentle slippage that i experienced instead of another wreck...

good luck, jason.

Don't say I didn't warn y'all first about the roads, I seriously think the speed limit on those roads is beyond ridiculous... I drive like 30 when the sun is out and 20 when its crappy... That accident we had, I hope to be the last of the "preventable" type...

Thanks Emma.. Look forward to the next Slosh which apparently is at Dabney... haven't played there in like 2 and a half years. whew...

My accident was at 30 MPH not that fast and the damage was pretty substantial. As most of you can attest the roads and weather were not bad the morning of the tournament. I definitely recommend caution as you get near the entrance to Hornings. There is ice in them thar hills.
