Steve,
In the tournament layouts at Milo the east and west are both 8000+ feet in distance on their own. This would be on par with that but nothing compared to the 11,000 foot monster we played at the 2009 Worlds in KC. Jeff Hagerty's favorite course played outside of Oregon to date!
The layout is very similar to what was looked at before. Interesting that the layout is in a counterclockwise fashion, must be that right hand dominate mentality( Stub is as well)! It has a nice mix of dogleg right & left and straight shots. Hole 4 is an awesome tunnel shot but will also be the biggest hurdle due to the risk of tree hits sending discs into the roadway. It was hard for Cris and I to get away from that hole and felt the risk was worth it when we walked the hole and threw it. The last part where the basket is on the other side of the water is actually a low ceiling shot over a pond that is created by the confluence of water from Fairview Lake. That hole will be so much fun to play, easily a course favorite!
Are they planning to build bridges over the flow of water on holes 5/6 & 8. These are not trivial creek crossings?
