OK Erik,
Let's face it using all par 3's makes it easier when counting strokes, and when playing dubs or singles it is all stroke play anyway, so if that makes it easier, cool. Pars higher than 3 speak to another aspect of the game, that of playing the geography of the course. Longer holes that throw in mandos and long up or downhill shots receive a higher par to let the golfer know it just takes more strokes to cover that distance and terrain. Great for when a golfer pit themselves against the course not the group. But when you are taking on the group, hoping they throw less skillfully than you, you count strokes, so...
