questions on greens fees
What would you pay to play nine holes of disc golf on a ball golf course?
What would you pay to play all day on a nine hole course? What would you pay to play 18 holes of disc golf on a ball golf course? What would you pay to play all day on an 18 hole course? ***These would be winter rates.*** |
The course layout would dictate the price for me. I have played very challenging layouts and gimmicky boring layouts. You can't charge $15 for a bunch of flat, no elevation, 300' unprotected green shots. I would pay good money to play it once, but the course would dictate whether I would return or not.
9 holes-$8 All day-$14 18 holes-$12 All day-$18 |
Depends on the layout. More challenging layout = more that I'd be willing to pay.
That being said, I don't think I'd pay more than $20 (all day, 18 holes) very often. I could see myself paying $10 for a weekly visit. Would also depend on the exclusivity of the course. Disc golf only or shared? |
It really depends on the quality of the disc golf course overlayed onto the ball golf course.
|
No more then 20 for an all day 18 hole course. And that I would hope wouldn't be winter rate. In winter, I can see that being 10-15 dollars max as they need to bring in money for a loss of revenue they aren't receiving from regular golfers. I think that a monthly fee for this type of set up is a great idea if the course is good enough to dictate I come back and play it more then once.
As for a 9 hole, 10 bucks max and it would have to be a killer 9 hole. |
IF course was <10 miles away and the course was good or excellent:
$10 for 9 holes $20 for 9 hole day pass $20 for 18 holes $40 for 18 hole day pass |
Since this is winter rates
- What would you pay to play nine holes of disc golf on a ball golf course? I probably wouldn't be inclined to pay to play 9 holes in the winter What would you pay to play all day on a nine hole course? Probably around $5 What would you pay to play 18 holes of disc golf on a ball golf course? Probably around $5-$10 What would you pay to play all day on an 18 hole course? Probably around $10 So I guess you could double the rates for the summer |

Plus, I would drive further (up to a 30min drive) if the price included a cart. Disc'in on ball golf courses rocks--and it's a no-brainer for courses that see so little action in the winter. :whistler: |
This really depends. Will there be cute "cart girls" driving around selling adult beverages during the round like there is on a good ball golf course?
$5 a round with no cart girls $25 a round with cart girls |
for me the factor of being on a ball golf course doesnt make it more valuable. so i would have to say,
9 holes of disc golf=$5 9 holes all day =$10 18 holes of disc golf =$7-8 18 holes all day = $12-14 i would never imagine paying more for disc golf wether its an actual disc golf course or its on a ball golf course, though my natural tendancy would be to play on a actuall disc golf course rather than playing on a ball golf course. and for me to pay to play on any course it would have to be a extremely well laid out course, like championship level course. |
I'd never pay more than $5 per person to play ANY course, as long as there are nearby options available for less than that.

Agreed |
Thanks for the input.

9 holes once: $3 9 holes all day: $7 if they were great 18 holes once: up to $10 if they were awesome 18 holes all day: up to $20 if it was awesome |
Disc golf prices
If it is $20 for all day disc golf, Some ball Golf courses are $30 for golf with a cart. I'm cheap, for the extra $10 I would rather ball golf. I Get to disc golf more often, so If I have to pay, It is going to be ball golf. Not that I haven't paid $75 to play a round of ball golf. Just have to make choices with my money.

The novelty of having a cart would make a big difference IMO.
I'd pay $5-10 for 9 hole options, & $10-20 for 18 holes(w cart). I think $10 each would be fair for tournament green fees, assuming 2 players share a cart. |
