Yes, they have.

The cat is out of the bag. I kept it quiet out of respect for certain employees there. Also, did you notice all of the private property signs they put up afterwards. Yes, it is for employees only. A very short course that I never see anyone playing on....

I believe if you click on the link in Scott's post above, you might be better enlightened. :whistler:Yes, it is private BUT if you are with an employee of one of the companies that are located on that property you might be able to play this nice "little" course. It isn't played a lot right now but since it has been installed the player base has already increased.

Adding disc golf courses seems to be a hot trend with the tech companines in the area. So far, there is Tek, Intel, Maxim (Hillsboro), and Solar World that I know of.

I think this is great for the sport. Yes, even the fact that they are private courses is a good thing. Get the suits playing regularly and eventually they will start looking for other places to play. More involvement is a good thing.

I agree 100%. Private course? Who cares. Most are very short 9 holers that most of us wouldn't travel to anyway.

But employees will play, learn to love it, and the sport will grow.

I think there are several active players out there that got their start at OGI back in the day. I've met several people who got their start because they worked very near Greenway or Orchard.

Living the dream.................every disc golfer secretly yearns for a private, uncrowded disc golf course right out side their door.

I'm seeing a small contingent of unfamiliar disc golfs on this course daily and in time it will only grow. I know my team is becoming interested in giving it a try. I will be bringing discs in from home that I don't throw as loaners.

Next spring these same people will probably be out at Pier, Timber, Milo on the weekends. This disc golf craze is just plain crazy.

Where did I get my start? Scott Hill took us out to Orchad one day for a long lunch and I've been playing ever since.

I always thinks its funny that disc golfers are basket magnets. They can be driving on the freeway at 80 MPH and spot a basket in there peripheral vision half a mile off.

Well yes we do have a new course on the campus of Tektronix, yes its private just like the rest of the campus. We have soccer fields, basketball courts and volleyball courts. My company believes strongly in investing in the people who work for it. I am sorry if you are harmed by our short private disc golf course. I know I rather enjoy it and the buzz on campus is that so do the other company employees on our campus ( right Bob). The course has seen a steady increase in the rate of use over the last week so I think its doing its job. The course is getting people out of their cubes, exercising and interacting with other people in our company and other companies. People on campus who play ultimate are now starting to play disc golf and they are going out and buying discs and such.

Either way you look at it its a win for the community. Perhaps all the haters should pursue their own private courses at their own place of work.

Well if you are out there at lunch time its definitely used. Otherwise between the hours of 5:00pm and dark most days after work. However the greatest use is during the day when people are at work and are taking a break or a lunch hour on the course.

Anyways you know the deal Stu, just make your move. Hemmerling honked at me today while I was installing the tee signs so he is also on the buzzz about it.

Yes, true dis golfers can spot a basket a mile away in the corner of their eye. True beer geeks can be driving by a pub and if there is a window identify the tap handles behind the bar..
