Eugene Celebration?

I was wondering if anybody knew if there will be a Eugene Celebration tournament this year? One of my favorite yearly events and it's always good to see the Eugene crew.

As far as i know/knew it is September 8th & 9th Nick... I'm not involved with the tourney in any way... I just filled out my request form to the wifey for tournaments and she said that was our anniversary so no soup for me

...Yep, the celebration is on the calendar for the 8th-9th of September. Not up on PDGA yet but hopefully sign up info will be on here soon??

Anyone in Eugene want to confirm the dates?
Course(s)?
TD?
6 weeks before the date and no information?!?

Wes Hansen July 30th, 2012 01:49 PM

Would it be possible to have someone in-the-know confirm there WILL be a Eugene Celebration on 9/8-9? It appears on two calenders, but as far as I can tell, without any verification.
I'll be the one.....
SOMEONE PLEASE VERIFY THIS WILL HAPPEN and provide any other info available.
Or send me a secret PM telling me who the TD is and I'll hunt them down and make them talk!

He is not a member of Facebook. One of the few holdouts I can think of....

I will also never watch Titanic or all male porn for the same reasons.

From my looking at the EDGC site I'm going to guess...
details will emerge after the club's August 7th meeting.
I think I'll not ask for any info until the evening of the 8th. At that point I think it should be mass harassment.
In the meantime, we all have until the 7th to provide EDGC with any sage-like advice we have.
I'll go first...
Please don't use hay bales, use CGrove for a round, raise any OB lines off the ground, have water on the course and if an area is to be OB, please make it OB no matter where the disc is thrown from. And I suggest the 3rd place MGM trophy be extra cool.

My understanding is that the TD has a personal situation involving a sick family member. The tournament is sanctioned and the dates have been on the Oregon calendar for months although not on PDGA.com as of yet. I think it's pretty obvious what course or courses will be used for the tournament although the details are not announced as to rounds, times, etc.

Yes, it's later than normal for official information to be posted. Sometimes things happen in the personal lives of disc golf organizers and club members that affect the lives of people in the disc golf community. Sometimes those things are minor inconveniences to disc golfers like having to wait longer than normal for tournament information. And sometimes those things are huge problems.

I'm putting this situation in the minor inconvenience column. Hopefully, everyone will be able to relate and show some understanding. Personally, I don't think suggesting a harrassment campaign is going to do anyone any good.

Thanks for the update.
May I inquire as to which courses are the obvious ones?
Haven't played the EC since Dexter/CG several years back.
I was joking about the campaign. I'm sorry that wasn't obvious.
Hopefully things turn out well for the person that's ailing.
Real life always comes before play.

I too hope things turn out well for the person that's ailing/ill. I got the joke though.....I have noticed he kinda of shoots from the hip and has a tendency to be sarcastic/mean when he thinks someone is being mean to another. Guess we could call him the :cop: on here....but I wouldn't take it personal, that just seems to be him. Appears to be from good intentions. A for effort....
