The West Sound Disc Golf Association is excited to present...

"Discin' at the Depot"

Low cost, one day event at the Depot. For those who don't know... N.A.D. stands for Naval Ammunitions Depot park. Well, the park was combed for munitions or ordinance about 6 years ago, so the only bombs on the course are the ones we're throwing... but there's always been subtle talk of what lies hidden shrouded by the big blue water tower off hole #8. Wait... Is it a water tower?... :wink2:

The Details:
Date: Saturday April 14th
Where: NAD park
time:9:00 am player check in. No pre sign-ups needed.
Format: One round singles

Costs: $10 entry, or $15 gets entry and a West Sound Challenge disc of your choice. (see the disc listings) Value, Value, value!
(An even better deal awaits WSDGA current members playing the West Sound Challenge season)

Sanctioned? nope

Bonus features:
Door prizes by random draw, including 5 custom HyzerFarm dyed discs!
"Bounty" for best score at $50 or greater value
"Ace Prize" at $50 supplied by sponsor, so its included at no extra cost.
Probably some other cool or fun stuff
And Have I mentioned the discs yet?

The Discs!

Blizzard Wraiths
Blizzard Katanas
Blizzard Destroyers
Blizzard Bosses

Star Ontario Roc!

CFR Makos
CFR Vulcans

Metal Flake TFR Roadrunners
Metal Flake TFR Teebirds

This event is the first of 6 events bringing Value oriented competition to the West Sound. With Discing at the Depot being the first one - it'll be the first event to get your hands on this fundraiser disc haul, so come early!

There's to be more coming on all the competitive goodness that will be this year's West Sound Challenge 2012, as presented by the WSDGA.

Another added bonus is that all rounds played in the West Sound Challenge events will be rated, just not official PDGA rated.

ski2man March 13th, 2012 09:41 PM

does it count?

I don't understand what that means...so it does count..sort of? what?

Yardbird March 13th, 2012 09:59 PM

The events in the West Sound Challenge are not sanctioned with the PDGA. So, the rated rounds will not count towards your PDGA rating.

The ratings calculator that is used is very similar to the same rating system used by the PDGA. The end result? A personal round rating will be determined to show how well you played for that given round.

FYI, there is rumor that the Final event might be PDGA sanctioned as a C-tier. If that happens, then the rated rounds will count towards your PDGA rating.

FYI, I might bring the Metal Flake discs with me to the TDG Final at Shelton.

Players at the first West Sound Challenge event (NAD, April 14th) will get the first chance to get the Blizzard discs (Wraith, Katana, Boss, Destroyer).

Less than a week to go!

Don't miss this one if you can make it. Aside from the Bremerton parks Fall Fling later in the year, this might perhaps be the only other N.A.D. based tourney-like singles event this year for most golfers.

cause after this, its on to the Hyzer Farm Open!
(don't worry, it'll get its own thread)

A special thanks to all the players that came out to NAD Park for "Discin' at the Depot"

The first of six West Sound Challenge events. :yay::cheerleader::yay:

There are 5 more events left in the season. One per month. Click here for more info.

By the way, there were 67 players that showed up to play. Not too bad for a one round event with no cash payout and $250 in prizes up for grabs.

The next West Sound Challenge event is the Hyzer Farm Open, May 12th at Dalaiwood.

I want to give a shout out to whoever designed the posters for events 1 & 2.
That is some of the best disc-golf-related artwork I've ever seen!

Are they going to be available for purchase in a framable size, such as 18x24"?

Yardbird April 16th, 2012 10:48 PM

Jeff,

You'll have to make the trip up to Dalaiwood and find out.:shooting:

Seriously, Brian Thornton is the West Sound artist that is responsible for all the awesome artwork. He might be persuaded to sell some prints if the demand is there.
