We are 56 days away till the beginning of my 10th year as TD for Dabney Doubles.

Can't wait till opening day...

Sunday 4/17/11 - two tournies

Sign-ups:
Tourney #1: 9am playing by 9:45-10
Break for 1 hour
Tourney #2: Sign up for about 1/2 hr. play ASAP afterwards

Cost like always $5
Payouts: $3 gets paid back, $1 Ace Pot, $1 Skins

I will take a $20 to sign-up ONLY IF 2 or more players are signing up with that $20.

Yeah 2 rounds... First round starts at 10am...sign ups 9:30ish.

The trick to get you partner is to speak to the person before the round... I have had it happen to me sssssssssoooooooooo many times it's not funny.

I remember The Brits first doubles I picked him up told him all about the dubs and how it goes. We draw the chips (I don't do the drawing) start writing down the names and when I my chips come up...who was my partner... The Brit!

I missed the Sunday rounds last year and it cost me getting into the finals. This year I am going to be able to play the first round only then go to the Timbers game. That should make sure i secure my spot come end of the season!!

I hear you. The strict need to attend so many weeks in order to do well on the season has honestly reduced my drive to try and qualify. I do however still try to make as many events as possible, it's just that I can't make very many of them.

Or maybe it was your partner the first night that held you back? My bad! :blush:

That's why i throw out so many tournies...Last year out of 19 tournies I threw out the 6 lowest scores for every person.

Bob, it was fun and always will be fun playing with you during doubles. I did not make it because I did not play as hot as I could for the remaining days. I hope we get a chance to play again soon this season as well. Bring it on!

So if I showed up Sunday, but could only play the first round -- would it be worth it? I mean, I know already I won't be able to make the finals.

Also - is it A pool B pool?

I would say it would be worth coming out just to enjoy the playing a round. The point system is 1pt for showing up. 1st place team will get 11pts, 2nd 10pts and so on for the top 10 teams. There is no A/B pool...just show up give me $5 and you'll get a partner to play the round with. Good times had by all.
