The 2010 WA State Series Schedule

Sorry it's taken so long, we've had some complications along the way, but here is the official schedule for the series this year:

Windy River…Kennewick…April 17 & 18
Whiners in the Woods…Kitsap…May 15 & 16
Lilac City Open…Spokane…June 5 & 6
Lakewood (at least) Open…July 24 & 25
White River Open…August 7 & 8
Finals in Spokane…September 25 & 26

You may notice that there is one less event than previously planned. Due to that, players will only need to attend 3 out of the 5 regular season tournaments in order to qualify this year.

Again, sorry for the delay, but hopefully this helps folks plan out their tournament season a little better now.

nothing at steli????

Yardbird March 4th, 2010 11:18 PM

I heard a rumor that Stielly will have two PDGA tourneys this Summer/Fall, they just won't be included in the series.

Back to the Washington state series:

Here's my $.02, please include Sea Tac with Lakewood for the Lakewood Open. The Jet Wash Open is almost a month later and my IMHO will NOT suffer in attendance from both tournies being close in dates. Both will sell out.

mazza March 5th, 2010 01:38 AM

in 09 steli was state finals..in 2010 spokane has the honors...but what was the reason for steli not being in the series? no baskets in when the dates where set in stone? eather way don't matter i hope to be in spokane for finals

I love the idea of two rounds at Lakewood on Saturday, and a round plus finals at Seatac, or two more at Seatac with no finals.
I love trying to beat a course, whacking away at it multiple times, but when I travel I prefer to experience the variety different regions have to offer.
Even changing tees or pin positions during a tournament, to me, creates interest and new challenges.
From a touring pros viewpoint, I can see the disadvantage to playing multiple courses, trying to find time to practice each one, but that's half the fun. Extra trips to the region to play the courses.

Another problem, or advantage, to running multiple courses is having cooperation and help. With help, both courses can run simultaneously and the event can hold twice as many players. The problem is finding the help and cooperation. It can be twice the undertaking.
Ho Hum, or Multiple Courses, either way, I'm coming over for both.
Stimpi

What will be the PDGA Sanctioning Tier Level for each of these events, please, so I may add that to the calendar.

Tim March 15th, 2010 12:13 PM

They'll all be B-tiers.

TreeLove March 15th, 2010 01:34 PM

thanks, updating.....

hey, wait minute:

According to: http://www.pdga.com/event?TournID=10350
and: http://www.pdga.com/event?TournID=9905

Windy River and Jet Wash are C-Tiers, not B-Tiers.

But at: http://www.nwdiscgolfnews.com/forum/showpost.php?p=57158&postcount=7

it says that all WAS events are B-Tiers.

Which information is correct?

Thanks in advance for your informed response!

Windy River shows up as a B tier for me.

And according to the official list of events above, Jet Wash is not part of the series this year. ;)

TreeLove March 15th, 2010 02:00 PM

Thanks, I stand DOUBLY corrected!

I noticed Lakewood is not yet listed Nationally. Anytime soon?
and whats the "at least" part all about is it a Mystery?

I believe the "at least" refers to the fact that the goal is a two course weekend--Lakewood and SeaTac. I applaud efforts to achieve this goal as I think it is a gread idea for a tournament that is in the WSS.

Ah, the mythical "Seawood Open."

Stimpi May 1st, 2010 09:00 AM

Don't you mean Laketac?

Is there camping at the course for the 6th annual White River Open?
Rush is playing at the WR Amphitheater on Saturday 08/07.
I'm thinking about coming up for the tourney and the show.
How far is WRA from WRP?

Looks like about 10 miles from the park to the amphitheater.

I'm guessing there is no camping at the amphitheater, so I'm wondering if there will be camping at the park?

Tim May 4th, 2010 12:19 PM

Yes, there should be camping available at the course.

Great! Thanks for the info Tim, I'll see you in August.
Roc on

REDFIVE May 4th, 2010 02:07 PM

I am not positive but I think they lock the gate at the course. If you plan to camp it might be hard to get back in after the concert. Might want to check it out first.
