Forget Google and Mapquest. They show old logging roads as open that have been closed by slides, grown over, and/or have been gated for years. if you use Mapquest's directions, pack plenty of survival supplies. When you see the Inn at Lucky Mud's sign at the corner of East Valley Road and Old Chestnut Drive, turn left and go up to the large gray house to the right. Don't ask for directions at the lower house at the corner (unless you have plenty of time to drive around, as well as survival supplies).

Bob, I don't know about Mapquest, but -- unless you're coming from Pe Ell -- the Google directions are spot-on; you just need to make sure to use latitude and longitude instead of an address as input.
