University of Oregon Duck Chuck - Sunday, March 17th, 2013 - U of O Campus

I have some exciting news!

The Oregon Ducks Disc Golf Team is getting our feet back underneath us and we are restructuring the club to be a more involved, more inclusive, and more cooperative group. Our vision is to be a community group first, and a competitive team second. Hopefully our vision is successful!

We are qualified to enter the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championship due to the stellar play by last years team. We plan on going and doing our best to make everyone here proud. In order to make this and any other goals possible we have to do some fundraising.

We are holding a Duck Chuck Tournament on Campus, Sunday March 17th, Rain or Shine (its going to be sunny, it never rains in Oregon). We are going to use a little different format than years past. Rather than having the field start at one time we will have rolling registration and start times. This means that all you have to do is show up and play. When you finish the course simply turn your scorecard in and we will record your score on the Leaderboard. We will have a limited prize payout to the top finishers in two divisions.

We want this to be a fun and enjoyable afternoon of disc golf. We have reserved the entire campus! The layout should be fun and challenging with lots of beautiful shots utilizing this amazing campus. We should have Oregon logo players packs to offer all participants (assuming no wrenches find their way into our machine). This is the only place to get University of Oregon discs!!!

We are going to have a raffle, with tons of great prizes. A few of us are throwing some more collectable and valuable prizes into the mix!!! The drawing will be held at the end of the event.

Times and specific locations to be announced in the near future!
Save the date!!! Sunday, March 17th!

Thank you so much!

sounds pretty awesome. i'll definately be there. If you want this thread to stay near the top of the oregon events page, put the date and venue in the title. It makes it easier for the awesome volunteers that moderate this forum:yay: to seperate upcoming events from ones past. looking forward to this.

Cory - I added the date to your post title so it could be stickied. Wish I wasn't going to be out of town!

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, stuff got crazy for a while.

Tournament check in will be at the EMU (Erb Memorial) Fishbowl. If weather is nice, signups will be outside, inside otherwise.

Entry and corresponding players pack:

$15 - DX Shark or DX Roc

$17 - KC Pro Roc

$20 - Glow Gazelle or Glow Firebird

We are trying to put together a raffle with a lot of cool stuff in it also. Hope to see you there.

I'm glad you're excited for this event!
It is a rolling registration, so there isn't like your standard "shotgun start" style of tournament. The way this works is that you show up, register, and play! If you have friends or family that you want to play with, bring them!
Player packs (which include an Oregon stamped disc!) are tentatively priced as follows:
Dx Players Pack (Dx Roc or Shark) - $15
KC Pro Players Pack (KC Pro Roc) - $17
CFR Glow Players Pack (Flat-top Glow FB or GZ) - $20

You can play the course as many times as you like, each replay costs only $5.
There will be two divisions, competitive and non-competitive. The OB rules will be different for the divisions (tame for non-competitive, and diabolical for competitive)

We look forward to seeing you there!
