Are there any standards set in place regarding amateur players playing pro?
As in reduced entry, trophy only, etc.?
Chuck, Jeff or anybody out there deal with this much?
    thanks

Entry fee is still the same, they can accept cash as well. They don't have to play Pro again until their pdga rating is over 970. Until then they can float back and forth.

Dont think there is a Trophy only option anymore, Yose.

An AM can move back and forth between pro and am until they either accept cash or register as a Pro. Even as a Pro they can still play Adv until rating is 970...or 935 for MM1.

There is NO criteria, where rating forces a player to turn Pro.

Ams playing pro can also accept merch instead of cash to retain their am status indefinitely.

            Chuck,
My biggest question at this point is the fees and what is typically charged.
As always thanks for your input as it is appreciated and respected very much!

Ams playing in any pro division including the older ones should pay the same entry fee if they want to qualify for either cash prizes if they plan to turn pro or merch prizes of equivalent cash value if they want to retain Am status. If the TD offers Trophy Only, we used to charge 1/3 entry fee in MN and some other places seem to charge about half entry fee for Trophy Only play. After deducting PDGA, admin and/or greens fees, the remainder of the Am entry in Trophy Only play should be counted as a cash added sponsorship contribution when calculating payouts.
