    The City of Eugene finally released their "Informal Request for Proposal - Construction and Operation of a Disc Golf Course" for Alton Baker park in Eugene.     Proposals are due October 12th, 2012 at 5 p.m.

    Highlights are: City provides baskets, tee pad material, and 50a electric. Contractor pays for everything else, all maintenance and infrastructure, etc. City wants minimum $400/month. Contractor can operate concession stand. Succesful bidder will have business experience, disc golf course and event experience, and sufficient credit or money on hand. The paperwork is no-joke, so if you want to bid you should get cracking.

    Notice to Offerors

    Proposals for Construction and Operation of a Disc Golf Course for the City of Eugene will be accepted by the Purchasing Office, 100 West 10th Avenue, Suite 400, Eugene, Oregon 97401 until Friday, October 12, 2012, 5:00 PM. Proposals shall be valid for 90 days after opening unless otherwise specified in the specifications.

    This Invitation to Submit Proposals does not commit the City to pay any costs incurred by any offeror in the submission of a proposal.

    Project Description

    In general, work includes funding, construction and operating a disc golf course in Alton Baker Park through a concession agreement with the City.

    Solicitation Documents

    Solicitation documents may be examined at the City of Eugene Purchasing Office, 100 West 10th Avenue, Suite 400, Eugene, Oregon 97401 or electronically on the eBid system at https://customer.ionwave.net/eugene-or

    Prospective offerors must submit a total of 1 original and 5 color copies of the proposal directly to the City‟s Purchasing Office at 100 West 10th Avenue, Suite 400, Eugene, Oregon 97401 before the due date and time specified.

    Pre-Closing Meeting

    An optional pre-closing meeting is scheduled for 4:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Shelter #2 at Alton Baker Park. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a visual inspection of the premises and address questions from potential offerors.

    Shelter #2 is located on the western end of the park. From the western-most parking area on the map, located south of Club Rd. on Day Island Rd., take the paved path southwest until you reach the two shelters southeast of the path.
