I will lend my original Lunchtime basket to the course while it works on getting the missing new basket replaced.

Any news on the basket? Besides keeping an eye out for anything regarding the stolen basket, what can we do to help? And why does this seem like it's not a big deal to some of the users on the forums? Regardless of your thoughts about lunchtime, a new basket that hasn't been in the ground for 6 months has just been stolen from a course, and there is little discussion about what we can do to get it back and prevent this from happening at other courses.

A better question is how did they steal this one? Did they cut the pole and take it from the sleeve or did they lock break it? If we as disc golfers inquired about these things, we may be able to come up with a more fool proof method for securing baskets.

              idea

I was at steily for tourney, they had these poles that were bigger then the one holding the basket and it was about 18 inches off the ground covering the lock and pole so that it would not be easy to cut lock or pole unless they cut it right under the basket. Thought is was a great idea. Just my 1 cents worth.

That's a really good idea. Would be inexpensive and quite frustrating to deal with if you were trying to get away with a quick easy robbery. I've heard of people sticking rebar down the pole so it's much more difficult to sawzel through.

Disc golfers always complain about improving the baskets so they catch better. I think it's time we make them harder to steal since the amount of shady ass hats in the world is only increasing day after day.

Where oh where is our damn basket?

It really is disappointing to do so much work on a course just to have someone help themselves to a basket. The lock was cut and the basket was removed from the sleeve. Hindsight being 20/20 maybe we should of used better locks, but that is really not the point. We bust our asses to make the course the best we can just to have some jackass help themselves to property that does not belong to them. WARNING thief...WE WILL FIND YOU. in the meantime it looks like we will need to use the funds we have been raising for new concrete tee pads to buy a new basket. While this sets us back a bit, it is what we will have to do. Please everyone keep your eyes open for this ground mount Innova Discatcher....and thank you in advance for any information we receive.

                  Contact discgolfordie.com with any information.

Would you like to start the discussion? You might start by suggesting "what we can do to get it back and prevent this from happening at other courses" or you could continue to be outraged that others aren't doing it for you

At shelton springs we used a punch to put mcdg on the baskets. We chose a secret spot and a visible spot to identify them. Also talk to discgolfingkilmers about the pipe they use around the locking collar and lock. So far at stielly since they have been installed, I don't think they have had any problems with scumbag douches stealing baskets

This is the most depressing thing I've read in a long time. This is absolutely ridiculous; these types of behaviors are exactly why we're not being taken seriously as a sport. This was not an act of vandalism, this is the epitome of disc golfer(s) gone bad.

                        Shame on you!
