  • Medford/ Ashland/ Central Point; Club Activities

There will be a weekly round each Tuesday at 4:30p EXCEPT for the first Tuesday of each month (the first Tuesday of the month will hold a sit down club meeting).

In part because we do not have a course with baskets, and in part to show the community the sport and us playing it, we will be holding this event at different parks or public spaces each week.

The first location will of course be Holmes Park. Each week will be led by a different golfer/ organizer than the week before. This will include choosing a location, organizing baskets, arranging a layout, and dealing with acepot, payout, and club donation. The Acepot will be an optional 1$, the payout will be 2$, and the club donation will be 2$. Two divisions.

The first club meeting will be at 4 Daughters in Medford at 7:00 pm, June 7. All interested local disc golfers should show up. The club's main goal will be to get a permanent course in the groud. June 7 we will offer and vote on a club name, talk about goals, nominate and elect officers, talk about how the first three weekly events went, and start planning our first two round weekend event.

Bring your club name suggestions and officer nominations to 4 Daughters at 7 pm, Tuesday June 7th. First though come by Holmes Park in Medford next Tuesday, May 10 at 4:30 for one round of singles play hosted by Hendricks (bring 5 bucks) and find out where the round will be the following week.

The first week went well until the cops showed up. I was not there but I heard for the most part we kept our cool but it is something to work on. Eventually cool heads prevailed, communication improved, and they let us play. Congrats on the win Aaron. BTW the police called back and setting up baskets at Holmes is NOT ALLOWED. Please refrain from disc there. That will be the last sound of chains at Holmes Park.

The next week at Fichtner Park went very well. Manicured green lawns, a sweet layout by Aaron and JB, and fresh after shower sun made for a nice 2 rounds of nine. The layout played tough with JB taking it by two strokes. Check out last Tuesday here----->

Come down this Tuesday and support the club.
