    How about putting a sticky here with an alphabetical list of the many acronyms used in its many tournaments, organizations, and the sport's jargon itself?

      UD = Upside Downer
      DQ = Dis - Qualified
      OB = Outa Bounds
      CTP = Closest To Pin
      FTP = First Tree Possible
      DFL = Dead F... Last
      NFL = Not F... Last

      PS: These are not acronyms. Acronyms spell out a word. These are initialisms.

          Treelove - could you elaborate on ftp (would that be first tee possible?) As for CTP is sometimes known as CTB (closest to the basket) for some of us..
          Dont forget DNF (Did not finish).

              I don't think there are a lot of disc golf abbreviations, although there's some funky vocabulary. I think other sites have already compiled these lists though...

                    No, you read it correctly, First TREE Possible - it's not a good thing!

                      The funny thing about CTP - it seems to be a shout out to ball golf. But ball golfers typically refer to CTP as KP, and nobody really knows why.

                        OUCH! Does that mean when we "hit" the tree on our first throw? How is that "terrible?" (I'm still a "newbie" but how is it related to PDGA rules?)

                          BOB - Best of box. I personally believe that is the correct definition. Not that other archaic definition of BOB that gets used so often incorrectly.

                            Read closely... the first TREE. Do you not think it's terrible to hit the first tree in front of the teepad?

                              a) Yes, that's what it means.

                              b) I did not say it was "terrible".

                              c) Who said we were talking about PDGA rules?
