I happen to LOVE Adair but I agree with Jefe's thoughts...I don't feel like driving 4hours on a Sunday back a forth for a TDG event more than once. My $0.02.

      Team Golf Courses

      1. I think it should be local to all the teams involved. Within 50 miles.
      2. The course should have a covered picnic area.
      3. Concrete T-pads or at least play before the rainy season.
      4. I think Leverich would be a good choice. You can play
      24 holes or 12 + 6 safari holes.
      5. You can play from the asphalt path for most of the holes
at Bonneville - I like Bonneville..

      Cheers

Word!! I would hate to see TDG become more of a commitment than it already is. I love TDG because it keeps me playing in the winter, but doesn't eat up my weekends like tourney golf does in the summer. My vote is for playing courses that are no more than an hour from downtown Portland, Sorosis being the only exception.

Ditto I agree too driving more than an hour on a weekend day is just too much. As much as I like Adair it is just a bit too far.

So now we need Gawain to restrict his list to 65 miles from downtown p-town? Does that blow out trojan?

Hath this whole world been mired in madness?
Remain ye men of faculty complete,
Of full arithmetic and prudence fair,
Attending to our noble bond and contract?
Or does here stand the last remaining man
To give a fig for rules and order yet,
No noble savage, but a stave unbroken
Who loves the law and bids it no misdeed.
Iíll not be bent to lawlessness. Mark it nought, if we be men of honour.

Google Maps indicates that Trojan is 57.8 miles from downtown Portland with an estimated 58min drive time.

So if no one wants to travel more than once during the season that leaves Sirosis as the only out of town course. We owe it to Big Winds to play their course. What does that leave us then? Pier is the ONLY 18 hole course IN Portland. Nearby is Dabney, Timber, and Milo and still for many way out on the West side a good hour or more away. I really hate the thought of NOT playing Adair or Trojan as they both are fantastic courses for what we do. We COULD I guess play Hornings twice, once on the canyon course and again on the long azzzzzz new course? Maybe at the Captains meetings they can battle this one out. I will let MY captain know that I want to play ADAIR.

Now bring on some Team Golf dang it.

I could go without the drive to Adair but I don't think Trojan is too far. Eastsiders driving to Trojan is like Westsiders driving to Milo. Either way, I will go where I'm told, when I'm told, WITH a smile on my face... and ready to kick Bob's old butt!

Hey this team captain is from Salem. Less than an hour from Portland. Cascade Gateway has cement tee pads and 18 real baskets. ahahahahahaha

We thought about playing CG last year but we couldn't remember if there is ANY structure to use as a shelter at that course. I don't think that there is anything but the course at that park right?

You are correct, there is no shelter. But.............I have a pop-up, I know Darr has one, Gawain has one, and most likely many others as well. I also have a 20x30 tarp that will convert my 10x10 into a 20x30. We can make shelter if we need it. CG might be a good change up from previous years.

                            Proposed TDG Schedule

                            How about this schedule:

October 10-11 - Milo McIver (might support all in 1 day)
                            October 24-25 - Pier
                            November 7-8 - Sorosis
                            November 21-22 - Cascades Gateway
December 5-6 - Dabney (Hornings might support all in 1 day)
                            December 12-13 - Leverich
                            January 2-3 - Milo McIver
                            January 16-17 - Adair
                            February 13-14 - Timber
                            February 27-28 - Trojan

                            Let the debate commence!
