I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this... but Adam Cooney is a registered Amateur. With that said, he could be rated 1050 and still play the NAAC as long as he has never accepted cash (which would automatically flip him to Pro status).

The 970 threshold is only for Pros who step back down to Am for one reason or another.

I failed to think about the Pro vs Amateur Status aspect , I appreciate you pointing that out! I will now go back to practicing putting as that is the only way I can have a chance against 971 rated players, j/k

Don't be scared now. "Fear of any kind is the number one enemy of all golfers, regardless of ball-striking and shot-making capabilities." -Jack Nicklaus. The only difference between your average 900 rated golfer and your 970 rated golfer is the confidence that they will or won't make the shot. but... a little putt practice never hurts.

Any movement on the wait list?
ďI believe I can hit 18 greens, hit every fairway, you know ó Vision 54, which means you birdie every hole, thatís in the back of my mind. I want to putt better, chip better. That day when I hit 18 greens and one putt, Iíll know Iím a complete golfer. Will that ever happen? Iím not sure, but itís possible. The 54 vision is always in the back of my mind.Ē

Second this question. /\/\ I'm #2 on the wait list and wondering what the odds are that a spot will open (from your previous experience).

I'm on the waiting list at #6, Robby McCall. If it matters at all and I know I haven't paid for anything yet, but I just wanted to add my PDGA#. Didn't have it at the time but anywho, 54264. Thanks!

Fingers crossed to seeing some movement on that wait list!

                          FYI (from their page)-

UPDATE: Registration for this event is closed. There are currently 11 spots that will be filled from the current waitlist. Invitations to sign up from the wait list will be sent in the first week of August. After that we will fill any cancellation spots from the wait list. The wait list is a first come, first served system, however, the tournament directors reserve the right to fill pools and divisions evenly.

I'm #2 and have not heard anything as of yet.
