  • Taloali Ace Race and 2nd Annual Falling Leaves Fundraiser

A lot of people have been asking about the Ace Race and if I was doing it again. I unfortuately cannot do it again this year because I have a new teaching job and we moved to Vancouver. Hopefully someone else will step up in the Salem area.

However, there will be a 2nd annual Falling Leaves Fundraiser in October-November with new layout twists and so forth. More information to come.

October 15th seems like the best date so far for this...

It will be sunday october 16th and the temp layout will be opposite of last year's temp layout. This tournament is to fundraise money for the course and start the fund for the next playground structure which I want to be twice as big as the one we got this year at Taloali!

Are you going to get this tourney PDGA sanctioned this year?

        • #5
No, not PDGA sanctioned to keep costs to the TD and players to a minimum for this small fundraiser. But the 3rd annual Fundraiser in May will be sanctioned yes...

The temporary layout for falling leaves on the main camp will be backwards from the previous layout.

          Other hole layouts will be;
          10 to 11 A and B
          13 to 14A
          3 to 11B
          5 to 10

          Open Divisions will be $20
          Amateur Divisions will be $15

I will have all my discs etc, bags, and DDGA discs as well for sale at the tournament and everyone knows I do great deals!

The October 16th 2nd Annual Falling Leaves Fundraiser is looking solid. I will have over 100-150 new discs and another solid bunch of used discs that everyone knows that I sell cheap. Discount for large purchases can be done.
Will try to use only metal ones, cloth maybe, but will stay away from that as much as I can, but will need all the baskets I can get my hands on for that tournament.
Would like to see a big turn out for this and get a head start on more course modifications and fundraising for the next big playground for the kids at the camp. The first one we got this summer was a great start!

            Registration 8:00-9AM
            Tee off 9:30 AM
            Lunch on your own
2nd round 45 minutes after Final card turned in.
            2nd round

            Open Men/Masters/Women = $20
            ADV/INT Amateur/Adv Masters = $15

If this can be announced at meetings and leagues, be great!

Thanks to the 31 players that came out today! Beautiful weather all day! The course was ready for everyone! 1st round par 62, 2nd round par 60. The backwards temp layout was a hit.
$306 fund raised and $250+ paid out out in script/cash!
Good head start on the winter where we expect to clear for pro teepads in November and try to get 2 more alt pins put in on holes 1 and 15 before May. Our goal will be to fundraise $3,000 at the 3rd annual fundraiser in May. Don't miss it!

                Thanks Snap,

I had a great time and the Salem folks are fun to golf with. The safari hole were crazy fun. The only down side was losing my pink Festivus Destroyer on 14.

Anyone who loses a disc at Taloali, if they email the care takers a good description of where the disc was lost, he and his son might go out there and spend 5-10 minutes looking when they are bored... worth a shot
