                    Below 970

Sep-2006 was the last time Mr. Bryan was an AM.

                      And a leg was pulled...

However, there is a 943 in Intermediate... Played two events (7 rounds) this year (in Advanced, no less) and only threw one round below 935. I am sure the 784 guy is stoked for the opportunity to play with the guy for the experience, though...

                      Someone get a broom...
ďI believe I can hit 18 greens, hit every fairway, you know ó Vision 54, which means you birdie every hole, thatís in the back of my mind. I want to putt better, chip better. That day when I hit 18 greens and one putt, Iíll know Iím a complete golfer. Will that ever happen? Iím not sure, but itís possible. The 54 vision is always in the back of my mind.Ē

Can't be any worse then the 846 guy in Advanced against that field!

I like how Deek N. Bryan have Dion Arlyn's PDGA number and rating in Adv!

This 943 player can't play in intermediate then right??
                          The ceiling is 935.

Correct. Exceptions can be made by TDs for players competing in a series but that is clearly not the case here. Heck, I don't even know if that exception is still acceptable, anyway.

                              A. Pros rated less than 970 may now compete in Amateur divisions offered at PDGA A, B, and C Tier events, for which they qualify based on player rating, age, and sex.

                              (1) Pro Men and Women
                              < 970 can play Advanced (MA1)
                              < 935 can play Intermediate (MA2)
                              < 900 can play Recreational (MA3)
                              < 850 can play Novice (MA4)

< 935 can also play Advanced Master (MM1) if they are of Masters age
< 900 can also play Advanced Grandmaster (MG1) if they are of Grandmasters age

                              (2) Pro Women only
                              < 850 can play Advanced Women (FW1)
                              < 800 can play Intermediate Women (FW2)
                              < 750 can play Recreational Women (FW3)

                              B. Players are awarded Amateur points for their performance but these points are not eligible for year-end awards or Worlds invitations.
It's absurd that Pros can only play MM1 if they are under 935, but an Am can play MM1 REGARDLESS of rating. It really makes the MM1 division useless. What's the point of having a protected division, if there is no protection? This is not a comment to Jim, it is to the PDGA. We put so much time effort and money into the ratings system, why not use it? RATINGS-BASED DIVISIONS, the wave of the future.
