Eugene Disc Golf Celebration belongs to the Eugene Disc Golf Club. I'm a volunteer. Anyone can be a member of the EDGC, come to meetings, and help make decisions. Not sure if you are trying to stir a pot of poop here or not, but if you are and you don't mind, I'd really like to keep this thread about the event. I'm hoping to keep it positive and full of honest information.

Glad you got signed up in time Jub, it's filling fast!

Jub - here's the info from the first post in this thread and from every other informational posting about this event anywhere online:

"All Professional divisions and at least one Amateur division (TBD) will play 2 rounds at Dexter on Saturday and 1 round at Cottage Grove on Sunday. All other Amateur divisions will play 2 rounds at Cottage Grove on Saturday and 1 round at Dexter on Sunday. There will be a 1 hr. lunch break each day."

That has always been the plan - 2 rounds at one course for everyone Saturday, switch to the other course for one round Sunday, awards at Dexter. Shorter days, earlier wrap-up so people can get home sooner, especially those of you with a long drive.

          Great News!

Camping at Dexter for Eugene Disc Golf Celebration 2014 Presented by Hop Valley Brewing has been approved! We are happy to be able to offer this low-cost option for our players, and we ask that you keep in mind a few things about camping:

We are charged by the State Parks for every person who camps. Camping will again be $5 per person, per night. You will need to pay for camping when you check-in for the tournament. You may pay in advance via Paypal to eugene.dg.club@gmail.com – please provide the names of everyone camping. Please respect the tournament and pay for everyone who camps! You got another place to sleep for $5?

A map of the area where you can camp will be provided to you when you pay. We can only camp in the designated area. You cannot drive or park on grass anywhere at any time to set up or break down your camp. Please help us keep this permit for future events by following the camping rules!

NO open flames or fires at any time.

The camping area is not big enough to have an effective and separate “Quiet Camping” area. Last year we had a lot of complaints about people getting too loud, too late. We ALL want to have fun, and most people also want to sleep. Quiet Hours will start at 11 PM. Please help us by being respectful to your friends and fellow players. If you are camping at Dexter so you can party all night long, you need to make different plans – that is not why we offer camping. If your friends and fellow players are being too loud – please ask them to be quiet!

Please don’t make us police the camping area or DQ people from the tournament who can’t hold it together for a fun weekend of golf.

Lastly, please consider leaving your dogs at home. Dexter will most likely again have a blue-green algae warning in September, and unattended pets are against park rules.

                  ~~Welcome Players!

We hope you are getting excited for Eugene Disc Golf Celebration 2014 presented by Hop Valley Brewing! We have been working hard to make this a great weekend for everyone, with 3 rounds of disc golf, on-site camping at Dexter, a vendor's village including food and coffee, a huge raffle, 3 baskets to be won, a CTP on every card in the 2nd round and more! We couldn't do this without the help of our sponsors, so please check out the sponsor list and let them know you appreciate their support!

All the information you need to know for the weekend is in this e-mail. Well, almost all of it - you'll get another email with any updates or additional things you need to know. Please check it out, and if you have any questions please contact the Tournament Staff at eugene.dg.club@gmail.com - e-mail to this address is the ONLY way to guarantee we see your question or concern. Please do not use Facebook messages or posts to communicate if you need something.

                  POOLS, SCHEDULE, COURSE LAYOUTS

We are using two courses this year: Dexter and North Regional Park in Cottage Grove. This will allow us to hold the Awards ceremony at Dexter around 2:30 pm on Sunday, instead of starting the final round at that time. Shorter days for everyone, more time to hang out together, and everyone gets home sooner on Sunday!

Pools, course layouts and schedule of play will not change. If the venue and format of the tournament are not to your liking please contact the TD team at eugene.dg.club@gmail.com and we will issue you a refund which you should receive within 7-10 days. The waitlist for this event is a mile long and we want happy, satisfied players!

                  CAMPING

The State Parks staff is again allowing camping at Dexter for the tournament. Our ability to continue offering this is based on YOUR behavior as campers. PLEASE follow the rules we have been given for camping.

Please help us keep this permit for future events by following the camping rules.

                  SCRIP REDEMPTION

                  • Skipper Hamilton and RIP Disc Golf will redeem all other scrip for this event, after Sunday September 7th. Skipper is based in Cottage Grove and has a huge inventory which he also sells online, and he will work with you to get what you want with your scrip.
