    2014 Columbia Rediviva Open - July 5th & 6th, 2014 - McCormick Park Disc Golf Course

Two Day - Three Round PDGA Sanctioned B-Tier Disc Golf Tournament presented by Huk Lab, Innova, and the St. Helens Disc Golf Club.

The Columbia Rediviva was a privately owned ship best known for going to the Pacific Northwest for the maritime fur trade in the late 1700’s. The mighty Columbia River is named after this amazing ship and in 1790 it became the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe! In addition, she was built in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1787, which was also the original name of the City of St. Helens where McCormick Park resides. The word Rediviva is latin and means revived, reborn, rebuilt, and/or renewed and I would like to bring the origin and history back by naming this fantastic tournament after it.

I'll be making time to freshly mow the course this week. With any luck, the course will look top notch for the event.

What is the deal with Hole 17 - Is the OB permanent or when there is water? Just a suggestion - Pour House should open at 10am - Sat and Sun...They could have had some business this past Sunday..

        Cheers

The original idea was to dig out the permanent OB pond and build a pyramid of logs to elevate the basket 50' or so beyond the OB pond. We have since been advised that area is labeled in a manner that restricts the amount of "fill" we can add. Soooooo, that's item number 127 that needs attention on the course. As far as I know, there's not solid plan for it yet. There is room beyond to extend the hole and make it more of a legitimate par 4. That's the best idea I have so far. Need to discuss with others and gather input.

What about the digging out part? A 20' deep pit would be unique. Maybe fill it with snakes?
