seems odd to me that theres only one round of actual disc golf at this tournament...'
we might have to split at lunch and go play hornings.
maybe i am missing the point.

Maybe? The first step would be to register...

The "point" of any Ice Bowl is to raise money and food for those in need. Our Ice Bowls have always been one round of singles, then lunch and the chili cook-off, and then something fun like doubles, or some sort of side game for those who choose to stick around. This year we will have G-Man's mini course(with actual mini baskets), and the very fun game; Kan-Jam! (Brought to you by huk lab!) With trophies for all three events.
We are also low on sunlight this time of year and chose to take a fun, laidback approach to this event... As opposed to squeezing in two rounds with a short lunch and early tee times.
So... here's an Idea: Register for the event! Donate your player pack back to our great charity! And go play 3 rounds at Horning's!...
                    Get the point

                      thanks for the explanation!

has anyone had any experience with the "nova" or the gummy tern?

                        And... thread drift rectified.

We played the original Ice Bowl 18 layout this morning, and with a few tweaks, I am sure it will play fun and bring back the memories from the good old days!

We also scouted the mini course, and found ways to adjust it for modern mini technology, while preserving the fun and thrill of the signature holes.

With a blend of classic and new features, this will be the best yet!
2014 Portland Ice Bowl and Lunchtime DGC 15th Anniversary!

The nova is a brand new putt and approach disc. It is very slow, and is supposed to hold a crazy straight line. The gummy tern is a champion tern with better grip, is very flexy and should be more understable like the first runs.
