The Skagit Aces Disc Golf Club, in conjunction with the Mount Vernon Parks Department, and the Mount Vernon Parks Foundation, is happy to announce that the pole course at Bakerview Park will be getting an upgrade to baskets and concrete tee pads in the near future.

The Parks Department has pledged to match donations up to $5000, which will be more than enough to get this project in the ground.

    Current donors:
Prime West Systems - $2500 (Course Sponsor)
    People's Bank - $250 (Hole Sponsor)

We are currently looking for eight more hole sponsors, at $250 each. The one requirement that the city has placed on us is that there be no above ground tee signs (to ease in mowing). We will, instead, have 6"x6" ceramic tiles with hole#, par, and yardage, on one back corner; and hole sponsor on the other.

The city has given us until the end of the year to get this done, but I would sure like to get it in the ground by October, if we can swing it.

If you know anyone who is willing to help, or wants to sponsor a hole, please send them our way!

Our club will be meeting in the coming weeks to map out a new layout to get the best use of the available land, and to stretch the course out to about 2500' (it's 1700' now).

Baskets have been installed, and tee pads are scheduled for spring time. There are temporary signs in place where the tee pads will go.
