Woodland Creek Community Park, Lacey WA

After a fantastic meeting with the Director of Lacey parks, I am happy to announce the beginning of what promises to be a great relationship! After dealing with the fiasco that is the Olympia parks dept., its very refreshing to have a conversation with park decision makers that is honest, productive, and positive!

Disc golf is written in to the park master plan for Woodland Creek Community Park. Although there is no money available, they have 18 acres set aside. The space consists of a few (5-6?) acres of wide open pasture style field with a majority of the property through dense woods with a creek border. We will begin design and fundraising immediately.

Although WCCP probably won't warrant it, the vision for Lacey Parks includes installing programs that are designed to bring outside money into the city IE. travelers for tourneys. This is GREAT news for disc golf in the South Sound!

Big thanks to the person[s] that installed the direction signs to the next tee pad! I am guessing it was Rick and Hannah?

Are the practice basket and driving range installed? I forgot to look after taking the picture of the proposed course.
Yep, practice baskets are in and the driving range posts are in.

We're thinking that signs pointing to the next tee would be handy
along with flags or at least a number on the baskets and perhaps
distances wheeled off to add to some score cards. They made
great advertising for the course in Arizona. Are we there next weekend?

    I'm baaaaack......

After a little hiatus I am getting back into the dg scene. Thanks to all who have been instrumental in developing the sport in the lower Sound area. I am headed out to Woodland Creek this afternoon to get a little practice in. I have never been there so should be fun. Maybe my putting has improved with the time off
