OK, We have some good news to share with you!
After finally being able to get into the area where the disc golf course will be we have found that the course stayed dry!!!! The river reached a height of 22.88' on Feb 21st at the West Salem bridge which is the closest point of measure to the course.
Our problem is that the access roads are at a lower elevation, which is why the park gets closed. Hopefully someday the access road will have a bridge added so the park can be accessed more!!

We are still hard at work. Most of which is behind the scenes. We have a meeting scheduled for Monday and we will continue to push forward to open this course ASAP!!

Work Party Sunday March 23rd Wheatland DGC

We will be running Billy Goat brush mowers to clean up hole 16's pin placement, clearing walkout trails for hole 3 to 4 and 10 to 11. We will be meeting at 1pm.... Meeting location will be either in the Beaver Island parking area or the Wheatland Ferry parking area. We will let you know before the 23rd what location we will be at.

We are getting close to opening a totally completed course build for summer play, we just need the weather to cooperate a little bit. This past flooding closed both access's to the course but the fairways stayed dry! Let's work together and get this course in the ground!

Baskets are going to be pulled at Wheatland DGC June 26th Thursday afternoon. They will be replaced on or before July 12th for an annual Civil War Reenactment.

Our goal in this down time will be getting a tighter cut on the grass since this first cut was from 4ft tall grass. Cleaning up rough on Holes 2, 4, 5, and 6. We hope to have OB lines marked out on the RIGHT side of holes 4 & 5 and LEFT side of hole 7's fairway. We are limited on the clearing of those rough areas, so consider lost discs in those areas gone as if it were water. Also, we will be setting posts for tee signs and a kiosk. Actual signs may not be installed until late July?.... Spot spraying of poison oak was started on Monday with a hot mix and will continue throughout the summer (it is much easier to eradicate PO after it has been mowed with the brush hog, it also reduces the amount of herbicide used in natural areas.).

Thank you for your support on this project, we hope to have this new course in tip top shape this summer...

First off sorry I've neglected updating on this website. Secondly we'd like to thank all of you that have come to play the course & giving us feedback. Our kiosk arrives next Thursday the 25th. We will get it up ASAP! We have also added a couple of garbage cans out on the course. The netting has been place along H1 to protect the camp host site. About 2 weeks ago we finally got all the walk out signs installed. As soon as we get our hands on dirt/bark chips we will backfill tee pads. Again thanks!
